robforbes (2266) - Bremerton, Washington, USA - JAN 22, 2012
pours a cloudy amber-orange with a medium size egg shell head, and verry good lacing.
smell is floral, citrus, hops, some caramel, and a touch of roasted malt.
taste is smooth and creamy, refreshing, caramel, hops, citrus and a hint of other fruits, a little pine in the back.
ends creamy, and nicely bitter. Beerona97 (2399) - Washington, USA - FEB 13, 2012
Draft. Pours gold with a sticky white head. Aroma of tropical fruit, pineapple, mango, even some coconut (is that a fruit or nut? Or are all nuts actually fruit anyways?) Taste has more of the pine resin and orange rind bitterness than I expected from the nose. A really awesome beer. Travlr (26065) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - FEB 26, 2012
Bottle. Murky amber brown color, thin white head, delicate lacing. Beautiful aroma of intense pineapple and tropical fruit. Taste is tangy orange, lemon, juicyfruit gum. Delicious. kassner (1691) - Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 24, 2012
UPDATED: AUG 5, 2012 Bottle from somewhere in NC. looks recemnt. deep honey color, with nice head modest Hops aroma, taste is OK but jst a tad thin, citrus notes, but not really west coast floral, some caramel and a bit high carbonation
August 2012 Another bottle from Whole foods. Much more robust and hoppy. troopie (2435) - Munchen an der Willamette, Oregon, USA - MAR 26, 2012
Draught. Rather ordinary looking IPA. Wonderful floral aroma, with some forest-y tunes. Full bodied, well balanced the brewer allowed the malt its song. Lingering hop finish.

Bottle. Pours cloudy amber with a small head. Slightly sweet with citrus/fruity hop aromas. Great fruity/citrus hop flavor with a hint of pine. A light caramel malt backbone and a hint of yeast. Very nice fruity but bitter finish.

Probably the most "refined " beer that I have had over the past two years.
This is the real deal, the final product
Very refined. You would think that they have been brewing this for centuries.
Passion fruit in an IPA? Brilliant! Only New Zealand hops? Home run!
At the end of 2012, this might be the best beer that I have had all year. savnac (2656) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - MAY 8, 2012
22 oz bottle. Hazy orange/amber with a thick, dense off white head that leaves lots of lacing. Aroma is all Nelson, lots of grape juice and light tropical fruit, there is also a bit of sweet bubble gum in the scent. Flavor is firmly bitter upfront with a mild caramel malt sweetness for balance. Medium body with average carbonation and a dryish mouth feel. This is a very nice IPA that showcases the Nelson hop, really like this one. Damico (3150) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 11, 2012
Pours amber orange copper in color somewhat clear with a decent off white head. The flavor of the Nelson Sauvin hops come in a little more subtle than I would like, probably because it is a few months old. It is still somewhat unique as usual for those Nelson hops, in a good lightly bitter hoppy way. The aroma seems to have gotten last a bit as well, but I get some nice unique tropical fruitiness and a hint of bitterness, both from the hops. crossovert (13833) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 19, 2012
It pours a deep amber with a foamy off-white head.
The smell has a good bit of toasted grain, a nice change of pace in an IPA. It melds with some mangotomatomeloney scents.
The flavor is nicely hoppy. Tropical goodness. Some resiny pine and citrus rind on the back end. The malt isn’t too sweet and provides some backbone.
This beer tastes freaking amazing, good one.
