Draft. Dark amber beer with a dark cream colored head. Light spice and rich malt aroma. Spice, chocolate, and rich malt flavor. Medium bodied. Malt, spice, and light chocolate notes linger. gracefullypunk (667) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 11, 2010
On tap at the brewery. Elysian’s specials just keep getting better. This one has an aroma filled with chocolate, spice, biscuit and a hint of citrus. The taste is rich, with a bit of smoke, chocolate, toasted malt, spice and plenty of cardamom. Creamy palate. Quite nice.SuzyGreenberg (1604) - Seattle, Washington, USA - APR 9, 2010

I very much enjoyed this porter, a deep brown pour with a smooth mouthfeel. Aromas are vanilla, caramel, a peppery spice, chicory and of course cardamon. The cardamon was a great addition, enhancing the flavors of molasses, orange, and caramel and lingering for a bit at the end.
Draft @ Capital Hill; very light brown with trace off-white head; visually the body is quite thin and clear along the edges; aromas of dark fruit, leafs, ginger and nutmeg; honestly I don’t know much about cardamom and first sniffs of this caught me off guard; a strange mix of spice and smoke, but not smoke in the smoked malt sense; base beer is very weak and barely what I’d consider a porter; thin, ashy and strange sweetness; definitely does not work for me Oakes (18756) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 25, 2010
Muddy brown. Aroma is full of cardamom with chocolate, cocoa. It almost comes across as chile. Chocolate and cardamom balancing off, hint of acidity late and lots of spiciness. Nice beer, a little simple but a good combo. Beershine (5253) - VANCOUVER, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 20, 2010
Draft @ brewpub. Is black-brown with scattered lacing. BIG cardamom and big smoke aroma! 100% unique. The flavors marry so well and they linger on the tongue. The cardamom is such a delight. The smoke really makes it shine. This one is truly impressive.

draft at elysian fields. pours a murky grainy black with a dense, creamy off white head that really sticks around. tons of lace. the bubbles look like they might never pop if you leave this beer undisturbed. big forward minty cardamom nose...unmistakable but pleasant and appealing. creamy medium body, pleasantly firm carb. roasty sweet brown bread mid palate with plenty of minty cardamom. i dont know that any beer has ever showcased cardamom, or even any other herb or spice, quite so succinctly as does this one. pleasant and unforgettable, but not exactly sessionable. creamy dryish minty cardamom finish. bvc (1244) - Washington, USA - MAR 9, 2010
Draft at Elysian Fields. Black with a dark brown hue to it and a creamy tan head. Nose is lightly sweet with some cocoa, orange and a touch of coffee. Roasted malt and very noticable cardamom. Light roast, mocha and a touch of orange and cola up front. The cardamom comes in toward the end and the finish is somewhat dry, earthy and peppery. Draft at RNH. Pours a mahogany body with a tan head. Dark spiced chai tea, shrub, herbal green character, and some pepper spice. Burnt tree bark and smoked licorice. Strangely awesome. CUJO (383) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - JUN 22, 2009
Rattle’n’Hum: come on now, people actualy know what cardamom tastes like?! Black liquorice, spicy fruit, Dr. Pepper? Medium to low carbonation. I think this is overrated currently. Pwn3d (1958) - Manhattan, New York, USA - JUN 17, 2009
Sampled @ Rattle n Hum on tap. Smells of pepper which made me want to vomit after Poivre. Anyways.. mouthfeel is like pepsi but even thinner of a body. Some peppery biscuit malt notes. Not good.
