Has some nice vanilla, but it does make the beer a bit sweet. Ok, on the palate I get a blast of vanilla and a touch of astringency.

Draft at Max’s. clear deep maroon color, tiny beige edge head. Aroma of sweet mill chocolate. Taste is intense Hershey’s syrup. One of the chocolatiest beers I’ve ever tried. And yes, that is a word. It is now, anyway. BOSSbrewer (2705) - Arkansas, USA - NOV 24, 2013
Had on tap at Max's in Baltimore. Pours a very dark brown. Roast and chocolate on the nose. Flavor is sweet chocolate. A bit too sweet. Medium bodied. Nice beer. HeadyDE (874) - Delaware, USA - NOV 23, 2013
Draft pour at 2sp..didn’t realize how much a treat this was until later...what a tasty imperial porter..pours a dark brown blackish hue with a nice little creamy ecru head..nose of espresso and cold press coffee that is evident as things warm up a bit..also getting some smooth roasted malt intertwined with vanilla and toasted coconut..wow..mouthfeel is as good as it gets with the style so smooth coconut is perfectly done and toasted perfection..nice lacing left all around..lingering mild sweetness that isn’t overdone with a clean slick mouthfeel..shit this is a tasty offering..very well done and absolutely delicious..well done elysian.very worth seeking out..
