Portland, Or - Johnís Market Place. Has a dark orange pour with an off-white head, light lacing. Patented crystal malt aroma with some fruity hints of nectarines. Flavor leans to the sweet side with some passion fruit sweetness, a nice dollop of caramel, toffee and a bit of nuttiness in the back end. Mouthfeel has a nice thickness to it.

Overall disappointing. This "red" is actually a medium amber heavily hopped ale. I was expecting a smooth mildly sweet Red when I first opened the bottle but was not thrilled with what I received. The
It had a frothy foam head but again the hops were overpowering the flavor of the grains.

Bottle. Reddish amber, golden cream. Mango and pine hop aroma. Medium body, light chewyness, dry metallic mouthfeel, resiny stickyness. Light caramel roast, I would like a tad more maltiness to balance the agressive tropical and pine resin hops.

Grapefruit and caramel hop aromas. Watery texture. Some caramel bubbles. Not bad.

Not much aroma. Maybe a little hoppy aroma. Flavor is pretty bland. Color is light and cloudy. Finish is gloppy and the best part. Definitely drinkable but not much to it.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
On tap at Mad Med Robinson. Pretty nasty stuff. Drinkable, but thatís it. Aroma was weak. Light toast and beer smell. Pour was actually nowhere near red. It was a medium gold with no bubbles or head. Taste was flat. Uncoarbonated and not much flavor. There was roasted malt notes that were weak and finished as quick as they started. Blah.

This was a decent Red Ale. Easy to drink, tasty, but nothing memorable or exceptional.
