Tap at Mane Liquor. Pours like pear juice with a sticky and dense white head. Definitely looks the part of a pear beer. The first thing to hit you on the nose is ginger followed closely by oven baked pears, cinnamon, honey and cloves. Plenty of spice in this one. Taste is a little all over the place and at first was a bit of a shock to my palate but after a while you get used to it - heaps of ginger, mild apricot and pear, cinnamon, honeyed oats and grassiness. If you’re a ginger beer fan then you will probably dig this. A little sweet for my liking but the loaded spices are nice. Odd stuff, pretty solid pdx77 (1483) - Oregon, USA - JUL 24, 2013
On draught at 26th Oregon Brewers Festival. Cloudy golden color. Aroma is spicy, with pepper and cooking spice. Taste is spiced ale, but pear is not coming through. Good spiced beer, but wanted some pear also. Fantabox (18) - USA - AUG 18, 2013
22oz bomber. Pours a golden color, with an aroma of spice. Tasted a bit of cumin and cardamom, not a whole lot of pear taste. It is a nice, easy to drink beer. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - SEP 19, 2013
22. Pours a crystal clear medium amber with a fizzy white head. Lots of stringy loose lace. White pepper, fruit skins, and crisp pear on the nose. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Caramel, pear, and white pepper on the mid palate. Mild pear finish. Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - OCT 13, 2013
Thanks to 5000 for sending me this bottle a few months back. Hazy yellow-orange color with a white head. The aroma is full of ginger as well as some pear notes. Quite spicy smelling. The flavor is very similar. There is a ton of ginger and cumin in the flavor as well as some sweet pear notes. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A definite spice bomb. My only complaint is that I wish the pear stood out more.

From 22oz bottle to shaker. Pour is a dull yellow, thin bubbly white head. Nose is super sweet, fruity, clove, slight hop. Light bodied, bitter and hints of sweet coming through, more of a hop bitterness then the nose lets you think. Decent beer, it definitely lives up to the Oddland name. douglas88 (9408) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 29, 2014
Odd....OK, well anyway odd beer. On tap at Orenco Taphouse. A spicy fruity nose. The flavor almost seems to have some cedar, a bit of pepper, lemons, medium spicy hops, banana and honey. Interesting. kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 18, 2014
Tap. Pours a slightly hazy yellow gold body with a small wispy white head. The nose is quite spicy, smells like cinnamon and pear with some bready pale malt. Tastes just as spicy as it smells, not sure what all is in here, but tastes like cinnamon and sage or some other herb. Pretty light on the pear flavor, but there is some on the finish. Lingering herbal notes. Lighter bodied with fizzy prickly carbonation. Interesting, but I wouldn’t want a full bomber of it. Darkmagus82 (2302) - - JUN 18, 2014
Served on tap in a chalice glass
Appearance – The beer is served a hazy golden orange color with a one finger head of white foam atop. The head fades rather fast leaving a bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – As may be expected for a spiced pear ale, both the pear and the spice show up strong. The pear is the heaviest, but the spice comes in a close second with lots of cardamom, cumin, and clove. Along with these smells are also some light lemon aromas and a little bit of a herbal smell.
Taste – The taste is much drier then I would have anticipated from the nose with it beginning with a rather drier pear flavor mixed with some flavors of a more cracker like nature. Spice flavors of cardamom and cumin begin the flavor profile with a bit of clove coming on later. Along with the incoming spices so too comes some herbal flavors and a bit of lemon. A bit of a more peppery flavor comes at the very end along with a sweetening of the pear a bit, producing a rather odd, still moderately dry and spiced flavor is left to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on average side with a carbonation level that is rather average as well. Both are quite complementing of the spice and the pear and help keep it a bit easy drinking even with the somewhat odd mix of flavors on the tongue at the end of the taste.
Overall – A rather interesting try, but nothing all that overly exceptional. Worth one try, but not too many more.

From a bottle into a goblet. The pour is a hazy orange with a minimal white head. I smell a lot of peppercorn with a light sweetness, sticky texture. It’s not bad but not very remember-able.
