Tap at brewery bar. Pours dark brown with light tan head. Light coffee, light treacle aroma with a little choc. Light to medium body, medium carbonation. Choc, coffee, toffee, a light lemon. It’s fine.

On tap @ Elysian Capitol Hill. Black pour with a thick khaki head. Smells of coffee grounds, roasted malt, and a lot of earthy hops. Sort of ashy. Decent cocoa powder aroma. Flavor is a bit acidic and ashy. Some dust. Roasted malt, cocoa powder, and coffee grounds. Really earthy and kind of bitter.

Drought. Very dark brown with creamy tan head, caramel aroma, low carbonation, bitter coffee beans taste, thin body, medium finish with bitter aftertaste. A good porter.

A smoky porter right here! Tastes like toasted marshmallows by a fire pit with a dark coffee in hand. Strong smell of coffee beans, malt, smoke, bbq, bubble gum, little bit of chocolate. Medium body disappears quickly. Pretty dry. Is that what the wine comparison is for?

mcberko (17840) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 5, 2014
On tap at St. Augustine’s, pours an amber-tinged black with a medium tan head. Aroma reveals cocoa powder upfront, a milky quality, and maybe a hint of roast. Flavour follows accordingly, with a milky palate - dry cocoa powder dominates the flavour. Smooth and creamy on the palate. Nice porter.

Draft sample glass. Nice foamy head and very opaque. Nicely balanced porter. Little by way I aroma sadly. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Gerbeer (3754) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 26, 2014
On tap. Pours a very dark brown with light foamy head. Aromas of nuts and dried roasted malts. Flavours of dried coffee, oily dark fruit, grass, and roasted malts. Nice enough but nothing special.

stantheman (1050) - British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 23, 2014
On tap at St Augustine’s in Vancouver. A black beer with a bit of tan head. Fruity and malty on the nose. A passable rather thin porter. It seems the intent was to create a lighter porter, but this comes off as weak. 3.3.

On tap at Elysian Fields. Pours a deep brown color with white head. Roasty, nutty, malty aromas. Malty, toasty, roasty flavors.
