The beer as it sets in my glass, black-a-vised, the head is monumental in size, light chocolate in color and frothy in texture, as the head disappears, a thick coating of lace forms on the glass. Nose is roasted and toasted grains, sweet, crisp and fresh, a real treat for the senses, start is thickly malt and somewhat sweet, top is middling and rich in feel to the palate. Finish is moderately acidic, the hops pronounced in their spicy bite, bitter chocolate dry aftertaste, a nice porter that is certainly worthy a try for the lovers of the “Dark” side.

Black with a thin head and lovely lace. Aroma is espresso with a hint of walnuts. Flavor is mellow if you sip it, but nice and bitter if you take a big drink. Coffee aftertaste. Good clean porter.

On tap at the source in Seattle-USA. Coffee like pour cloudy, brownish cap adhesive. Nose: hint of cocoa powder, Tiramisú. Mouth: coffee powder, watery, a bit tart, flat. Boring but not that bad. Limbo.

Dark brown to black color, teal head. Roasted, sweet taste. Medium mouthfeel, low bitterness. Roasted scent. Sweet aftertaste.
4 oz pour from tap into a cylindrical tasting glass at the brewery in Seattle. Black and opaque with a moderate head. Dry dark malts on the nose. A little earthy. Medium body. Dry. Taste is a step up from a typical English porter. Dry with a little smoke and a little chocolate. Flavorful, but nothing too obtrusive. Something I could drink a few of without much of a problem. The centennial add a nice bitterness, though I’m not getting much of their fruitiness. On tap at The Ginger Man, New York, NY. A dark brown coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Roasty, malty, coffee aroma. Tastes simiar, roasty, malty, slight coffee, rather thin porter but alright.
