Fiery dark amber color with no head. Big nutty roasty aroma with oxy sherry and pit fruits. medium body and lightly carbed. Big apple skin tart pit fruit flavor with an apricot and sherry wine oxidized sweetness. Spicy black pepper and mild heat to finish. Aged barley wine no doubt. 22 oz. bottle - thanks to after4ever for this; unsure on vintage; dark copper, clear and flat; wheaty, musky, syrupy, a little hot and mildly oxidized; dry and sweet; very thin and feels more like a wheatwine at this point; honey and stale wheat; kind of blah after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - JAN 18, 2009
22. Probably an 04 or an 05. Made sure to grab a bottle that had no sediment at the bottom. Crystal clear medium gold with garnet highlights and a slim gray rim. Spicy, minty, herbal nose. Creamy medium body with a crisp, almost lemony tang to it. Some boozy bite there as well. Really showing its age with the soft flavors and a bit of oxidation, but definitely not in an altogether bad way. Mild mid-palate with more of the notes from the nose showing. Good stuff. glkaiser (1214) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 21, 2008
Picked up at the Bottleworks cellar "sale" a few weeks ago. Best guess was a 2005, when it was last brewed. Still a bit of carbonation left, but minimal. Lots of caramel, brown sugar and a little apple. Not bad by any means, but I am m sure this one hit its peak a couple of years ago. beeryum (652) - Norcross, Georgia, USA - JAN 10, 2006
Notes from same time goldtwins had it. Yeah Im lazy. Hazy orange pour. Malty bready aroma, and fairly fruity. Sweet bready malty flavors, again with some fruitiness.

Poured a very hazy orange-gold color. Aroma is very sweet and fruity. Mostly of sweet oranges with light alcohol nose. Flavor of sweet fruit and hops. Light bitter finish and nice alcohol warmth. Medium body. mkobes (2142) - paramus, New Jersey, USA - AUG 19, 2005
22oz bottle from Eda. Thanks Mike! Orange in color with a small white ring. Hoppy and malty aroma. Fruity and sweet malt in the aroma. Flavor is malty and hoppy. Light alcohol flavor. Ok BW. Not bad. MaiBockAddict (1497) - Good Beer Bar Deprived, New Jersey, USA - AUG 19, 2005
22 oz bottle from EDA. Thanks Mike! Nice orange with a small head ring, and little carbonation. The aroma improves upon waming up. Some hops, some sweet malt, and some fruity yeast character. The undercarbonation gives a watery mouth feel. The flavor is some OK sweet malt and American hop flavor and bitterness. There is a sweet hoppy finish that is not too bad. This one does need some warmth to be appreciated. Not the greatest BW, but not a bad drinker overall. beerinmarch (2830) - Washington, USA - MAY 1, 2005
Thanks to batkins for holding onto this brew for a while. Pours a very clear amber with a smooth white head. Very smooth barleywine with warming flavors of caramel and honey, very floral with a sweet fruit flavor in the finish. Eyedrinkale (3214) - Astoria, New York, USA - APR 15, 2005
12 oz bottle. Cloudy burnt orange with a small head. Sweet and malty, there isn’t anything avove average here. Mildly hopped with some grainy taste. Wish I could say more but I don’t find this anything special.
