Pale orange, fruity hoppy and strong. A bold, unapologetically hoppy northwest-style IPA. Brewed with Pale, Munich and Crystal malts with a portion of sugar. Bittered and finished with Chinook, Centennial and whole flower Cascade hops all over the place.

Bottle. A light, hazy orange-amber hue with just a thin topping of stick, white foam. The aroma is enticingly herbal and citric. The beer drinks with a bit of thin consistency, but the flavors are decent -- pine, pepper, and a bit of light wood. (#5391, 12/21/2013)

Bottled: unk Pours orange and diaphanous. Some soapy foam atop an etched surface. Reminds me of Ruination on the nose. Nice grapefruit, pineapple and mango with plenty of the ganja. Flavor is really biscuity with way less hops than I had anticipated. Bitterness with some grapefruit rinds and the beer is quite sweet. Then when I swallow, the bitterness comes back through to encore over me and leaves me wanting a refill. Medium bodied with a good slight dryness offsetting the sweet malts. Overall, a nice beer with interesting twists and turns. Serving type: bottle 06-13-2012

Bomber. Hoppy aroma with citrus notes. Pours golden-amber colored with a moderate off white head. Hoppy taste with citrusy notes. Finishes smooth and dry. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap 2SP. Pours a murky orangish amber color with a small white head and some light sticky lacing. Aroma of honey sweetness, with pink grapefruit and pineapple. Taste of sweet malt in the front, followed by bitter citrus hoppinesss and a strong lasting bitter finish. Medium bodied and slighlty oily, with prickly carbonation.

THOUGHTS: Nice IPA, but not as balance as Id prefer. Oddly the aroma was quite cloying and the flavor was a bit bitter nearing the harsh side. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a lightly hazy, medium orange with an average, off-white head that mostly diminished and left excellent lacing. The aroma had moderate caramel malt; heavy pine, grapefruit and orange hops; moderate resin hops; apricot; and marmalade. The initial flavor was moderately sweet and lightly bitter; while the finish was heavily sweet and heavily to nearly harshly bitter with a long duration. There was oranges, apricot, caramel malt, orangey hops, citrus rind, pine hops, a little resinous hops and honey. The medium body was a bit oily with sort of soft carbonation and a dry and slightly astringent finish.

Sampled on draft at the House of 1000 beers this beer poured an orange-amber color with a large creamy orange-white head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was rich pine, fruity hops, floral hops, perfume, pepper and a light yeasty element. The flavor was sweet and very tangy with strong notes of pine, pineapple, pepper, lemon, herbal hops and caramel. Long finish of pine, pineapple and herbal hops. Full bodied. Excellent.

Pours a beautiful bright copper orange with a smallish head and not much retention, lots of CO2 activity. Sweet malts on the nose. Attack: onslaught of 10/10-hoppy bitterness, medium freshness, mild saltiness, 4/10-sweetness Mid-palate: bitter grapefruit in the background, malts, continuation of hoppy bitterness, orange oil, hints of caramel Finish: leaves an almost salty-like feeling on the palate, lingering bitter hops. Final notes: This beer is all bitter hops from start to finish with some grapefruit citrus and malts. I cant say I love it... but Im happy I tried it. Too hoppy-bitter aggressive for me.

Bomber. Pale yellow, with strange green tinges at the edge. Fat, fruity, bacon grease aroma. Fairly balanced initial / mid goes to a bubblegummy flavor and that dissipates quickly / final has a touch of sweetness. Medium body. Sort of pleasant, but less than it promises. Label claims it is "unapologetically fierce"; yet maybe they should revise that?

Keeping it quick - very good overall. But not as 'unapologetically hoppy' as advertised, which was disappointing. Everything else about it is great, so I will have again with different bitterness expectations ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
