3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
THOUGHTS: Nice IPA, but not as balance as Id prefer. Oddly the aroma was quite cloying and the flavor was a bit bitter nearing the harsh side.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a lightly hazy, medium orange with an average, off-white head that mostly diminished and left excellent lacing. The aroma had moderate caramel malt; heavy pine, grapefruit and orange hops; moderate resin hops; apricot; and marmalade. The initial flavor was moderately sweet and lightly bitter; while the finish was heavily sweet and heavily to nearly harshly bitter with a long duration. There was oranges, apricot, caramel malt, orangey hops, citrus rind, pine hops, a little resinous hops and honey. The medium body was a bit oily with sort of soft carbonation and a dry and slightly astringent finish.
On tap. Poured a golden color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of dried pile of leaves, earthy, some citrus, and lighter spices. Tastes of citrus, earth, some nuts, and lighter spices. Thinner and watery.

Pours clear orange with a white head. Head retention is ok. AROMA: citrus, pineapple, malty, floral/herbal hops, tropical fruit, passion fruit, tangerines, sweet pine and slightly boozy notes. TASTE: pineapple, citrus fruit, malty, hop bitterness, tropical fruit, light caramel, spice, spruce, herbs and hop bitterness. AFTER TASTE: hop oil, citrus, spruce and pineapple with an oily finish. Bought the bomber just for the label, my daughter loved it, but I’m really surprised at the great taste of this brew. Only thing that makes me upset is that ELYSIAN is now owned by AB InBev. andrewje41 (4174) - Kenmore, Washington, USA - APR 6, 2015
Draft pour at the brewery. Plastic cup in pure celebration of Mariners opening day. Pours a copper color with a bubbly head. Mild wet hoppy aroma. Flavor has a nice up front hop character. Bitter finish, but not overly intense. Overall a really standard, non unique ipa. Not bad though. miclip (4) - California, USA - MAR 7, 2015 does not count
Darker golden ipa, very bitter and hop forward, not sweet don’t taste many residual sugars but they are there as its not too dry, very piny

"Really nice hop profile here. Either due to age (no bottle date so can’t tell) or to an abundance of biscuit malt as well, this is a good ipa that could have been great. Aboubding in aroma and flavor of citrus and spicy hops, and like I said, a ton of biscuit malt. That would usually be enough to dislike a beer, but this had enough going for it, and was so stinking smooth, that it still ends up pretty nice. I’d get again. I imagine this is awesome fresh from the tap." kyzr (1593) - Montana, USA - JUL 27, 2014
Cloudy off orange with nice frothy head. Big hoppy nose. Flavor is the same with a dry moisture sucking quality. Finishing with a bit of hoppy pepperness. Errl (2442) - Plano, Texas, USA - MAR 4, 2014

Bottle. Pours a hazy copper orange with a large eggshell white head. Aroma of citrus, pine, orange peel and caramel. Flavor of pine, citrus, grapefruit, orange, light caramel and had a dry finish. dslam (103) - surrey, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 24, 2014
Poured from a 1 litre bottle. Good amount of white frothy head. Clear golden brown with very little carbonation that is visible. Having the beer with some salmon kama, and it’s bitterness works really well as a pallette cleanser. This is a very well balanced ipa. I usually don’t like the one’s that are bitter, just for the sake of being bitter. Leaves a light coating in your mouth, and I find that quite enjoyable
