3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A cloudy amber with a medium sized whitish head. The florals are more pronounced on the nose, and the body is medium-full at the front and then becomes more subtle. The finish is a bit abrupt but it clean with a lingering carmel fruity.
Cloudy gold color. Off white head. Black pepper nose, some citrus notes. Strong black pepper taste, but not took strong. Minor to moderate heat at the finish. Maybe some salt mixed in at the start? Underlying citrus...orange? Moderate carbonation. Very unique...a rare find these days. BREWMUSKCLES (2696) - New Jersey, USA - APR 1, 2017
all and all a nice representation of a flavorful candied Belgian ale steeped in pepper. nice moderate heat and spicy in the American and European tradition. a touch of syrup and a a good lingering heat in finish. PanMarek (460) - Pennsylvania, USA - APR 1, 2017
Cloudy, dark golden almost orange pour with quick, white foam. Spicy, peppery nose with yeast phenols and touches of grainy / herbal malts. Complex tastes with the esters as the backbone and the spices, pepper in particular, toward the end. The more herbal spice notes work their way through the flavors. The finish is ultimately a smooth malty bitterness. Medium body with active, sharp fizz and fairly dry but not as dry as it might be. A mildy peppery alcohol burn at the end. Seems to be a bit divisive – perhaps the peppery spiciness and the comparative high ABV put some people off. 60minuteman (1744) - West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 18, 2017
Pours a murky deep orange with bits of lace. Peppercorns mainly upfront. I can’t distinguish between the colors but it’s pretty spicy. Some heat, yeast, wheat and floral backed with orange peel and some booze. White wine maybe, maybe rum. kidmartinek (5001) - austin, Texas, USA - JAN 9, 2017
Pretty good. Not too spicy or peppery. Fruity aroma. Fruity flavor and a waxy palate.

Bottle, light amber beer, foamy white head. Aroma ginger, black pepper, malt. Taste is malt, honey, black pepper. This is quite sweet through the middle, though itndoesnalmostnget dry at the finish. Palate is fairly heavy for a saison. In fact, not sure this is a saison, it’s so sweet, and the pepper flavor is quite strong. stevoj (5272) - Boise, Idaho, USA - SEP 16, 2016
Bottle from Brewers Haven. Orange golden body with small white airy head. Peppercorns noticeable in the aroma, other softer fruity notes. Taste brings the pears out more, but the spices linger on the tongue. Overall, very well rounded, nice Saison base with perfect accents from the fruit and spice. Another pleasant surprise. From 22oz bottle to tulip glass. Pour is a orange color, thin white head. Nose is yeast, banana, light floral, herbs. Taste is sour and finishes sweet, light-medium bodied. Finishes fine and with an active fizz on the tongue. onceblind (9859) - Denver, Colorado, USA - AUG 30, 2016
Brilliant clear golden with a thin white cap. Nice herbal and grainy nose that’s a touch biscuity and Belgian estery, with a touch of something from the spice cabinet and golden American malts. The flavor is quite golden bready malty, some black pepper, a nice herbal nuance throughout the base, and a light orange citrus finish with more blonde and biscuity saison grains. Sampled on draft at Tapped this beer poured a murky orange-tan color with a large fluffy white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was sweet and yeasty with a musty note and moderate pineapple and orange. The flavor was yeasty and phenolic with a musty presence followed by elements of peach, citrus, pepper and almost perfume. Long finish that turns a bit dry. Medium body. Interesting.
