Bottle Pours a redish copper with a nice dense off-white head. Aroma is a nice blend of hops and malts, a bit of citrus and slightly woody. Flavor is a fairly strong, bitter hoppy bite. This is balanced with some carmel, malt and dark roasted grain and a neglegible alcohol taste even at 6+% Feel is nice and rich. Quite smooth actually. Lingering hops and slight wood or cardboard aftertaste.

This has a heavy caramel, slightly lemony nose; very earthy, a tad biscuity, and pretty flavorful overall, pretty well bittered and quite balanced; slightly dry finish and full bodied. I likey

slighyl hazed copper body topped by an off-white head. Odd hop choices for the style, but not bad. Piney and grapefruity with a crisp caramle finish. Medium body.

[email protected] American style ESB, lots of aromatic pacific north west hops. Some toffee apple in there, with a tangy hoppy finish, a little bit earthy aswell. Not bad.

Ruby pour light head and some lace. Lightly roasted malts, bitter hops, with citrus and some pine. Bitter hops, sweet malts, some caramel hints in the flavors. Nicely balanced between the malts and hops. The palate is fruity and hoppy and the finish is a touch bitter. I find this beer to be fairly well balanced. But that’s my opinion and I could be right.

BückDich (5464) - McCall, Idaho, USA - MAY 15, 2004
Ruby orange, firefly colored with lots of lacing & sticky head. The aroma is citrusy with hops and sweet maltiness. The flavor is moderately bitter with some good caramel malts & a scosch of pnw bitterness. Light diactyl in the tail & finish. Not bad, good esb, seems too bitter and unbalanced though.

Golden amber. Attractive hop aroma. Malt is caramelly sweet, but mostly mundane. Unbalanced toward bitterness. Somewhat reminiscent of Rogue YSB.

SETANTA (582) - Bangor, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 2, 2004
Deep amber, excellent clarity, cascade aroma, very hoppy for an ESB (more like an India Brown Ale). Balanced on the side of bitterness.

Copper colored with a thin floating tan head and nice lacing. The aroma isn't strong but there are hints of caramel and hops. Light and creamy with a nice combination of caramel, and nut like malt flavors. Followed by a hoppy finish that leaves a touch of bitterness in the throat and the back of the tongue tingling. A perfect finish to a nice tasting beer.
