Pours a very cloudy hue that is orangey-brown with pinkish highlights. It has a thin white head that leaves lace on the glass. The aroma is big with bready malts and yeast and also has some spices and fruit (citrus, berries, bananas). The flavor has lots of sweet malt with some citrus and coriander flavors. There is also a hint of acidity and the finish is dry. The beer is fairly light in body and is very highly carbonated. Overall, a very pleasing saison. glkaiser (1214) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUN 4, 2007
Had at Elysian Fields; brewed at Tangletown. Very cloudy amber; looks like apple cider. Nice sweetness. Citrus aroma and taste. I enjoyed this. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - JUN 2, 2007
Draft at Elysian Fields. Pours crystal clear medium amber with a slim rim of white. Big dust, vanilla, and pine nose. Best nose of the night so far. Fairly flat attack but otherwise nice-enough carb. Weird mix of caramel and citrus and vanilla on the mid-palate. Not so nice. Not really. Not much finish, either. Great name, middling beer.
