Belle black à mousse beige persistante. Nez complexe : houblons, chocolat, caramel, cerises noires, pruneau, vanille, malt rôti, ... Bouche : fruitée, épicée, chocolatée puis citronnée ... et en arrière-bouche, une fine, forte et longue amertume. Zeer goed Mijnheer !

0.33 l bottle from ’Biermuda’ as ’Emelisse BIPA’, best before December 2017. Clear, very dark brown to black with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish, fruity-resiny and slightly roasty aroma of tropical fruits, pine and dark chocolate. Sweetish, roasty-malty, fruity-resiny and a bit soapy taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, tangerine, mango, orange and some pine, followed by a medium long, rather roasty-bitter, slightly resiny finish. Medium to full body, creamy, slick mouthfeel, average carbonation. Very tasty! Great, intense hop profile and really pleasant mouthfeel, well-balanced.

DijkBier (396) - AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS - NOV 2, 2016
Black pour with firm lightbrown head. Aroma contains raosted malts, alcohol and sweet tones of chocolate. Taste: chocolate, liquorice, light to medium hop bitterness, light coffee. Bothe the sweetness/chocolate as the bitterness last in the aftertaste. Interesting beer.

33cl-fles van bij Bierhalle Deconinck te Vichte. U: Zwart met grote beige schuimkraag. G: Citrushop, koffie en geroosterde mout. S: Geroosterde mout, drop en chocolade. Citrusbitterheid verweven met koffie in de afdronk. M: Licht sticky, medium carbonatie en volmondig.

sulawang (1161) - - OCT 8, 2016
Visual: Pours iced tea brown with a small creamy head, superfine sticky lancing as well as a layer of retention, sporadic bubbled streams.

Nose: sweet caramel barley malts. (lvl-5)-pungency

Attack: smooth-slick, fine CO2 mouthfeel, slightly watery

Mid-palate: immediate grassy bitter hops, (lvl-6-sweetness), coffee, roasty-toasty toffee barley malt,

Finish: lingering bitter hops, light chocolate, barley malt exhale

Summary: The attack is somewhat thin for an 8%’er but otherwise I very much liked the high quality smooth CO2 and prominent hop-roasted barley combo. I get a dark & green vibe from this one - rich yet still lush with vibrant hops. Great stuff.

33 cl bottle, served in snifter glass. Poured black with two finger tan head. Aroma: Coffee, dark fruit, freshly cut grass, roasted malts, chocolate, licorice. Taste: milk chocolate, grassy hops, floral, roasted espresso beans, licorice, herbs, roasted nuts, vanilla, dark fruit, molasses, citrus. Very nice creamy mouthfeel. Medium to full body with a roasted bittersweet finish. Bitter hops & roasted malts...works so good together in this delicious brew!

Impressive. Thick and creamy and loaded with sweet chocolate and roast. Slutty beer and gee it’s attractive without being completely over the top.

Robe brune et opaque. Peu de mousse. Arômes fumé, café agrumes, résineux. Goût mangue, chocolat. Le café et le résineux restent en bouche. Très bonne black IPA.

R4N5H (1182) - NETHERLANDS - SEP 9, 2016
33cl bottle picked up at Jumbo supermarket Amsterdam and poured into a snifter on 09-Sep-2016. Black with a tan coloured head which settles down whilst drinking. Aroma of roasted malt, pine and citrus. Medium body and carbonation. Rich sweet roasted malt upfront, with bitterness of grapefruit, spices and a hint of cherry and coffee. Hoppy with a long bitter finish which numbs the back of the tongue. One of the best Black IPAs brewed in Holland that I’ve had to date.
