Quite much pitch black colour, small brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, some spices, quite hoppy and mild toasted and liquorice like notes as well. Flavour is roasted malts, toasted notes, toffee, mild floral and fruityness as well. Very pleasant. Leaves a long ashy and floral aftertaste. For once a nice Black IPA.
Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of Countbeer. Pours an opaque black with a small beige head. Hard roast malts in the nose with a herbal hoppiness. Medium body, hard roast, bitter chocolate and coffee with a malty bitter finish. There’s certainly hops in here, but they don’t really shine, so the end result is more of a bitter Porter really. 250812 Travlr (24913) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - SEP 27, 2011

GBBF. Clear brown beer, small pale tan head. Light dry palate. Lots of chocolatey dark malt with mild roast. The dark malt is a little sour until the finish when it turns sweeter. Piney hops. Alright! 3.5

GBBF. Opaque black - brown beer. Frothy pale tan head. Quite a viscous palate. Smooth dark malts. Mild chocolate - coffee. No roast or bitterness. Smooth lactose - cream. A little piney hop with a trace of red berry fruits underneath. Overall a really smooth lactose dark beer - somewhat porter like.
