Bottle at HaandFestival 2012. Looking quite nice in the glass, with its dark brown, almost black body and moderately sized beige head. The aroma is lightly roasted, with some dried fruits and a sort of smoked mackerel touch. There are hops too, but not enough I think. That goes for the flavor too, the lack of hops I mean, with some citrus peel and bitterness, but it’s mostly on the malty side, with dried fruits and some roasted malts. A little sweetness too. Full-bodied and pleasantly carbonated, finishing with a nice blend of roasted malts and bitterness. A slightly weird one, not the typical Black IPA, but sure drinkable. 120504

Bottle. BBE June 2018; Drank Sept 2017 - Opaque black in colour. Good creamy beige head. Good lacing. Very malty; roasty malts, slightly burnt, coffee, chocolate, liquorice. Citrus fruity; grapefruit. Hoppy; good hop bitterness, piney hops. Bitter roast malty citrus fruity and hoppy throughout. Increasingly bitter dry burnt roast into a liquorice finish. (2017-09)

UPDATED: AUG 12, 2017 Nice and intense IPA with that special smokey rye flavour of a black beer. But still more refreshing as most black IPAs.

Dark robe with foamy creamy white brown-ish head. Smells of hops, coffee and herbs. Medium body with a bit of a creamy texture. Palate of caramel and coffee. Strong bitter finish with notes of herbs and licorice. Can taste the alcohol a bit too much for this ABV. A quite solid but not original BIPA.

It is that black is not my favourite, but this beer is very likeable. Missing the carbonation.

W nosie słabo/średnio intensywnie, trochę słodkich tropików, czekolady i lasu. Barwa ciemno brązowa, rubinowe przebłyski, klarowne, bardzo ładna, wysoka, gęsta, beżowa piana. W smaku sporo słodyczy i paloności, gorzka czekolada, kawa, karmel, rodzynki/śliwki w czekoladzie. Goryczka średnia, palona. W ustach fajnie kremowe, alco dobrze ukryty. Jak na BIPA to zabrakło w tym piwie odchmielowej owocowości. Butelka do 31.12.2017

The aroma is hops, spruce/grass. Pours a dark copper/brown with a creamy tan head, mostly lasting and excellent lacing. The taste is bitter. The body is medium, the texture creamy a touch watery, the carbonation lively and the finish bitter and a little astringent. Not bad.
