Clear almost black, brown lacing, lasting foam head. Peated hoppy aroma, similar in taste. One can detect the bowmore still there although faint. Very nice. (Velp 201706) tdtm82 (1701) - Essex, ENGLAND - NOV 30, 2014
Bottle; many thanks for the awesome legend which is madmitch76; consumed at home; poured into my Moor Beer Company IPA glass. Lacing is white and the head has gone down but it was a nice full head if only very slight.
The aroma is buzzing. Loads of peat; chocolate; Scottish whisky; velvet and leather. The taste is leather; peat; whisky; one penny Black Jack sweets (probably a fiver now); German black licorish; chocolate gateaux cake; velvet and blackburries from Bramling Cross.
A really mental and insanely balanced beer! Really impressive work from a very overlooked brewery with an exceptional barrel-aging programme. Top work! Benzai (16527) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - OCT 3, 2013
Bottle [thanks to Bierkoning] @ home shared with Dutchdrebus. Dark brown color with a slight reddish hue coming through. Medium sized almost instantly diminishing slight brown head. Aroma has malts, hops, roastyness. Taste malts, hops, roastyness, slightly peat, a touch of wood and liquor. Full body, medium to full but suitable carbonation. Very nice beer! Bottle @ benzai. So, this beer isn’t black.. First letdown. It’s brown with a minimal off-white head. Smells whisky, wood, peat, roasty. Tastes peat, whisky, wood, slightly smoked, roasty, bandaid. Medium to full body, nice carbo. Too much peat for me. SirLimpsalot (4451) - SWEDEN - OCT 9, 2012
Stockholm Beer & Whiskey 2012: Trevlig doft av fat. Smaken är lite mer diskret med små kaffetoner och annars inget märkvärdigt.

Sample at SBWF 2012.
Clear dark brown with a small head. Aroma and taste of malt, hops, whiskey and peat. Also oak and roasted malt. The finish was long.
LoFi (1748) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - SEP 9, 2012
Sampled bottle at GBF 2012.
Dark reddish brown with a beige head.
Aroma: peat, fruity, licorice.
Taste: quite peaty, coffee, some tropical fruit, orange, grapefruit.
The BA element is not very successful. MrHangover (4693) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - MAY 31, 2012
Bottle. Pours a dark, hazy brown colour with an one finger tanned head. Aroma of coffee, roast, grapefruit, pines, resin and hops. Flavour has a lot of sweetness to it, I expected or hoped for some more whisky, but it wasn’t there. Still a really good beer. Maybe it’s better that it had not that much whisky notes. It’s nicely located on the background.. very good beer. yngwie (17173) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - APR 8, 2012
Bottle. An unclear one, dark brown in color and with a finger-thick dark beige head. Peated, caramel malty aroma with a nice hoppyness in the back. Lots of beefstock in the flavor at first, then the peat kicks in, and there’s also a nice hoppy bitterness. Full-bodied and nicely carbonated. Bitter finish with something chemical I don’t really remember what is. Well, it’s a nice beer anyway. 110916 sebletitje (10282) - Enghien, BELGIUM - APR 1, 2012
33cl bottle from Emelisse biershop. A 2xIPA? not sure. A hopped up British style brown maybe.
