Tap at Max’s. Pours a hazy deep copper with a nice lasting sticky off white head. Aroma is sappy, pine, good PNW citrus hops, nicely fruity and a solid lightly sweet carapils backbone. Flavor has more malt than desired, but is damn clean (american ale yeast?) light carapils sweetness with lots of good sticky resinous hops, orange and grapefruit with pine needle and fruity hops as well. Mostly clean finish- nice bitterness and a moderate malt profile all the way through. Probably the best DIPA I have had from Netherlands by far. alagnak (468) - Littleton, Colorado, USA - FEB 7, 2010
Bottle @ ’t Arendsnest in amsterdam. Ruby orange and hazy in the glass. A lot of toffee and malts upfront in the aroma, transitioning to a yeasty and floral hoppy note that is really nice. Flavor is the toffee malts and yeast first, followed by a really clean grapefruity bitterness that shows some sweet oranges as it warms. Really well-done DIPA. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - FEB 17, 2010
(33cl bottle) Pours a lightly hazy burnt orange body with a tall rocky cream head and nice lacing. Aroma of florals, toasted nuts, grass, apricot, bread, and caramel. Flavor of toasted malt, florals, earth, light citrus, and caramel with a bitter finish. Damico (3147) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 5, 2010
The aroma is floral and malty. The color is reddish amber cloudy with sediment. The flavor is lots of sharp sweet maltiness that ends with a hop bitterness distinctly. RichardW (1813) - Carlisle, Cumbria, ENGLAND - DEC 13, 2010
From Beers of Europe. Faint caramel in an otherwise fruity aroma, hazy amber on the pour, with a lively, well-retained head. Lovely fresh mouthfeel, good carbonation, big grassy hop resin and citrusy, with the caramel aroma following through to the aftertaste. Very little in the way of yeasty flavours and, in agreement with a previous rater, this excellent beer comes acrsoss a bit underrated.

Sampled on draft at house of 1000 beers this beer poured a dark orange0-caramel color with a large foamy orange-beige head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was sweet table sugar, grapefruit and faint pine. The flavor was sweet and tangy with notes of table sugar, pineapple, grapefruit and lemon. The finish was long, tangy and had lingering pine and fruit cocktail Full bodied. Nice. BeerFanDan17 (1121) - Brunswick, Maine, USA - DEC 26, 2011
Nice, hoppy, and smooth double IPA. Good malt balance and tangy sourness from the hops. caesar (7165) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - MAY 12, 2009
Tap @ KBC ’09. Hazy golden color, large head. Good hoppy aroma, fruity again. Firm body, good bitterness. Decent DIPA. bierkoning (13387) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - JUN 2, 2009
Bottle. Orange brown color, cloudy. Pineapple and melon in the aroma. Full bodied. Oily hopbitter peppery flavor with ontbijtkoek (spiced Dutch breakfast cake) and melon. Notes of alcohol. Long oily hopbitter aftretaste. Well made DIPA, Emelisse didn’t forget the power, but went for balance. thebeertourist (5189) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUL 8, 2009
On tap at ’t Arendsnest. Hazy amber colour with a rich, almost yellowish head. Rich grassy and fruity hop aroma. Good bitter flavours with some balance provided by biscuity maltiness. Quite full-bodied. Nice.
