3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from l’Autre Oeil. Pours amber, somewhat hazy. Weird pour -- it was supposed to form basically no head, but it wasn’t the case, and I ended up with a think creme head. Carbonation seemed weird as well -- really tiny, sticking to the side of the glass. Anyways... Aroma is completely off for the style : while there was some caramel coming from the malts, the dominant aroma was really in the peaches/aroma territory, with no citrus at all and some hints of resin and tea. Closer to Lambic’s territory -- it WAS good, just completely off. Taste is much more in the DIPA territory -- subdued caramel and non-metallic honey notes with the hops taking a good part of the taste. Finale is dry, but without being abrupt, and quite long. Really long. A bit lacking in hop kick, but a pretty serviceable DIPA.
Tight white fluffy head stayed well on a hazy, thick, copper coloured body.
Tropical fruits & haribos aroma.
Medium bodied. thick & cloying on the palate. Sharp on the back.
Bitter hoppy tastes of mango, aniseed, clove, pith, grapefruit & tropical fruits. Very spicy & peppery on the finish. mauritsio (1013) - FINLAND - OCT 21, 2016

Hazey amber colour. Very small white head. Pine on the aroma. Oranges. Mango. Taste: not as fruity as the aroma. A bit one dimentional actually. Even picking up some alcohol (?!) Had this one like 4 times before this rating but it still doesn’t convince me. Meh-meh. There are so much DIPA’s out there that are way better. markextrae (4586) - Alingsås, SWEDEN, SWEDEN - MAY 24, 2015
