Cola color with medium head. A: grass notes, raspberry, roasted malts, hint of caramel, dark chocolate, coffee note. T: creamy, with chocolate, wood note, slight oiliness, faint booziness. Nice mellow roast bitterness which ends in a fruity, almost sour taste, mostly apple and raspberry. Medium to full bodied. Aftertaste is quite dry and sweet.

Bov (12636) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - SEP 18, 2015
courtesy of Thomas Krüsi - hazy dark brown beer with a little foam left; correct lacework; nutty and caraelish aroma, light toasted with notes of molasses; full-bodied, quite sweet and thick; long caramelish finish with notes of prunes and molasses - deceptively simplistic and raw

stouby (4666) - Holbæk, DENMARK - SEP 10, 2015
Bottle at Hotel Emeldinge. Clear red - orangey with a light brown head. Aroma medium malty (caramel, fruity, cherries). Flavor medium sweet, fruity. Medium body.

bonkiedeaap (763) - Leerdam, NETHERLANDS - SEP 6, 2015
Bottle from a local Albert Heijn. The beer is dark amber colored and pours a cream colored head, with nice carbonation. The aroma is very fruity and yeasty, with tones of cherries and strawberries, also a little raisins and caramel. In the background light tones of roasted malts. The taste is creamy and soft. The CO2 is well balanced with the full sweetness of candy and caramel. In the background some nice bitters are noticable. The finish is light bitter with tones of roasted malts and long noticable. Perfect dubbel, I want another one.

Marduk (7707) - Reval, ESTONIA - AUG 20, 2015
330ml bottle (7.5%). Slightly hazy copper color. Medium size, yellowish head, stays. Metallic, grainy, hop pellets, black pepper in aroma. Sweet, caramel, grainy, malty in taste. Sweet caramel malts in aftertaste. Feels raw. Tastes raw. Sugars cover alcohol well. Drinkable, but bit dull.

330ml bottle (Uba ja Humal, Haapsalu) - thanks Marduk!
Stodgy aroma, some solvents - pear drops. Later mashier, maltier and sugarier. Nice deep red, large tight sticky pale head, plenty of intricate lacing. Taste is sweet and mashy. My first thought is "this might be nice if they fermented it". Sweetish smooth palate, carbonation barely adequate against that, but there. Pretty dull, to be honest. Smothers the alcohol behind the sweet mashiness. Finish has some pleasant noble hops. Poor belgian, needs some attenuation.

On tap at Arendsnest in Amsterdam. Decided I wanted something a little darker and went with this. Not bad, pretty much your standard classic dubbel. Dark fruits, some spices, nothing out of the ordinary but you can tell the skill is there. I’d love to try more of their offerings.

martjoobolut (4401) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUL 24, 2015
Bottle (7.5% alcohol version). Pours dark red-brown with beige head. The head stays for some time. Aroma is sweet, burnt sugar, malt, dark fruits. Flavor follows the nose. Alcohol is well covered. Overall: very good.

3.2
suurjuust (3542) - ESTONIA - JUL 24, 2015
Brown beer, tan head. Nose is plums, candi sugar, dried fruit. Flavor is malty, dark fruit, chocolate hints, roasty notes and barley. Finishes with dark fruit, sugar and chocolate, some bitterness.
