On tap at Arendsnest in Amsterdam. Decided I wanted something a little darker and went with this. Not bad, pretty much your standard classic dubbel. Dark fruits, some spices, nothing out of the ordinary but you can tell the skill is there. I’d love to try more of their offerings.

Bottle (7.5% alcohol version). Pours dark red-brown with beige head. The head stays for some time. Aroma is sweet, burnt sugar, malt, dark fruits. Flavor follows the nose. Alcohol is well covered. Overall: very good.

Acobreada,turva,espuma bege mediana;aroma delicioso,aparecendo malte tostado,nozes,castanhas,passas,açúcar mascavo,chocolate amargo e notas cítricas;sabor encorpado tão bom quanto o aroma,com um adocicado prazeroso e equilibrado,amargor praticamente inexistente,álcool notado no final mas bem inserido,dulçor se mantem no retrogosto. Boa surpresa,ótima Dubbel,me lembrou a Westmalle,porem mais suave,recomendo.

Gangstergafje (1349) - Capelle aan den IJssel, NETHERLANDS - JUN 12, 2015
The beer has a nice dark brown color with a orange glow. The beer pours a thick layer of foam, which disappears quickly. There isn’t much foam remaining on top of the beer. The beer doesn’t have a very strong aroma. There is a little sweet aroma of alcohol, just strong enough to be nice and not be overwhelming. There is also a nice roasted barley aroma. This roasted barley forms the link between the aroma’s in the smell and the taste. The taste is sublime. It has this bitter dark chocolate flavor of roasted barley. There is also a little sweetness of alcohol, really nice to balance the bitter roast. The beer has everything. Bitternes, sweetness, a little sour, very good.

UPDATED: NOV 24, 2015 Sint Annaland Weinig bijzonders. Totaal geen karakter en een hele slappe, neutrale smaak. Neigt alleen licht naar chocolade.

Muggus69 (2807) - Yarram, Vic, AUSTRALIA - APR 13, 2015
330mL bottle from International Beer Collector. Pours a murky copper body with a creamy beige head. Moderate nose - toasted bread, treacle & caramel, biscuit, date pudding, sultana & nutmeg -like phenolic spice. Full bodied, rich & creamy without too much weight, moderate soft carbonation. Sweet biscuity, chewy toffee malts, toasted dark grain bread woody spice & pepper, dried fig & date & sultana, slight nutty/cocoa note. Relatively lifted bitterness, drawn out finish with some warmth. Pretty good, has a slight unrefined/homebrewed feel to it - nothing wrong with that though!
