Bottle. 9.5%. Black with tiny beige head, fastly diminishing. Aroma: coffee, caramel, burned malts, vanilla. Taste of licorice, coffee, burned chocolate and caramel. The texture is oily. The beer is a bit dry, and aftertaste is not that long.

Not that much coffee in the aroma, mostly cherry liquor, dark bread and some unpleasant, "dry" note Taste is better, its sweet, medium bitterness, full body, low carbnation, a bit of alcohol (not that bad)

33 cl bottle, served in snifter glass. Poured black with a two finger tan head. Aroma: roasted espresso beans, licorice, dark chocolate, vanilla, dark fruit, toffee. Taste: loads and loads of roasted espresso beans. salty licorice, dark chocolate, black currants, dark fruit, vanilla, raisin bread, toffee, haagse hopjes (dutch caramel/coffee treat). Medium to full body with a long roasted, bittersweet finish. Roasted espresso dominance in this imperial stout. Good brew, one of the best beers Ive tasted with coffee being used in the brewing process.

Its great to taste a coffee stout where one can clearly taste the coffee character. Just like the real thing but sweeter. Pronounced length of roast flavour and indeed a spice like character on the nose. I think this is a touch under 10% but there is almost a feather touch to this beer. Might be the best coffee infused beer I have tasted.

beerplace (1004) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 18, 2016
Bottle from 16th Street Liquor store. Pours an opaque dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is leather, some chocolate notes. Oxidized? The same character taste with grassy and roasted malt bitterness. Slightly boozy. Bready, roasted malt bitterness aftertaste. Coffee is almost disappeared, unfortunately, it didnt age well as De Molen Kopi Loewak. Needs to be reviewed when it is fresh.

Aroma: lots of coffee but very roasty and sweet; Appearance: pitch black with thin tan head that dissipates fairly quickly; Taste: follows nose; smooth, boozy, delicious; Palate: very heavy body with long, sweet-coffee finish; Overall: dont know if its the Italian coffee beans, but this is really good. A great surprise.
