Black with a creamy tan head. Nice caramel bourbon and chocolate aroma and taste with the bourbon coming across smooth as he’ll and a nice silky palate.
/12/10/12//12

Cask (handpump) @ GBBF 2011, Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, England.
Clear dark black colour with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate, wood, light alcohol - whisky (Jack Daniels). Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, alcohol, dark malt, licorice, chocolate. Body is medium, texture is creamy, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light to moderate alcoholic.
Pour at the Borefts Bier Fest 2011. Dark color, thick pour. Coffee, coco, whiskey. ads135 (4716) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - OCT 19, 2011
An excellent barrel-aged IRS. The mouth feel is a bit oily for my taste, but the end result is excellent. The whiskey is apparent but not overwhelming and its 11% is disguised by its malty sweetness.

On tap at In de Wildeman. Black, thin beige head. Aroma of bourbon, roasted malts, chocolate, vanilla. Flavour is sweet, bourbon, chocolate, hard roasted malts, some moccha, coffee bitter finish. Medium bodied. Too much barrel ageing imo, but still very tasty. Martinus (4610) - Baarle-Nassau, NETHERLANDS - OCT 13, 2011
Black, coffee colour head. Aroma sweet vanilla, slightly smoky, coffee, chocolate, wood, liquorice, bourbon, caramel. Dry and quite bitter taste, roasted malts. Vanilla, wood, slight whisky sweetness coming in towards the end. Quite warming alcohol tones. In the finish somewhat sweet whisky changes into a nice hoppy and burned malts bitterness.

(Bottle @ Borefts ’11)
Bottle @ 3th Borefts 2011. A black colored beer, with a beige head. The aroma of strong vanillawith chocolate. The taste is dry bitter, with notes of whisky, a little burny, wood notes and vanilla. The aftertaste is dry bitter with chcoclate and some sweet. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - OCT 9, 2011
Bottle:   Pours black, thin frothy tannish head, fairly sticky lacing.   Strong roasted malt and chocolate aromas.   Also heavy graham cracker and slight alcohol.   Barrel aging seems minor, at least on the nose.   On the tongue its a different story, strong warming Bourbonesque flavors compliment the heavy chocolate graham cracker smores like flavor.   However, not as much Vanilla as I would have expected.   JD is subtle, complimenting the rich roastiness of this one.   Moderate to full body and mouthfeel.   Backside actually seems like a sweet hoppy light soy sauce, thankfully not too cloying.   Tasty brew, but seems young and also not as vibrant or flavorful as other BA beers.   Certainly enjoyable, and I’m thankful to have a bottle of the single case that came to Washington. Bottle at Borefts 2011. Mild vanilla aroma. Black colour. Good stable brown head. The flavour is sweetish with some barrel vanilla, rather alcoholic, but mellow. Good creamy mouthfeel.
