A rather plain imperial stout. I had expected a strong character from the laphroaig barrel, but I hardly tasted/smelled any traces of oak/whisky, which was a disappointment. The taste of ethanol was also quite dominant (even though it was not that strong). BMan1113VR (7930) - Los Angeles, California, USA - JUL 6, 2012
Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with low carbonation, but good legs over a nearly black hued body that is quite glass coating. Aromas are strongly of fusel alcohol, scotch, peat, earth, bacon and chocolate. Medium roast. Tons of fumes. Flavors are smokey, nutty, scotch, alcohol, nougat. Sharply warming. Lots of fusel, big and thick yet with a dry and very boozy finish. TrefwoordPunk (1332) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - JUN 28, 2012
Bottle 33 cl. Pours pitch black with a medium tan head and an aroma of ripe cherries, roasted malts, caramel, whiskey, espresso and dark chocolate. The taste is not as big and complex is I hoped, it’s pretty sweet, mostly roasted malts and watered down whiskey, with some coffee and smoked eels. Pretty good, but I prefer the Ardbeg one.

Bottle courtesy of ClubGonzo, shared with VANØ Bergen. Pours a hazy dark, with a lightly coloured small head. Aroma is a very sweet coffee, and some notes of alcohol. Flavour is caramel and syrup, together with notes of roasted nuts and bitter coffee. Sweet finish. dcschiller (2211) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - MAY 21, 2012
Another one shared by Ibrew2or3!! Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is chocolate and some smoke and bandaid. Taste is sweet with some smokiness. Medium bodied with noticeable alcohol. Really good.

33cl bottle. Pours black, with a tiny offwhite head.
Smells of chocolate, whiskey, sea salt, coffee, and malt.
Tastes of a medium-heavy sweetness, a medium bitter, and some pleasant peat.
Full bodied, soft carbonation, creamy texture.
A lovely stout. sebletitje (10547) - Enghien, BELGIUM - APR 26, 2012
33cl bottle from Emelisse biershop. BB 12/2013.
(330ml bottle) Pours an opaque black body with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, pine, grass, peaty scotch (destinctively Laphroiag), and ash. Flavor of roasted malt, pine, grass, peat, wood, and chocolate with a dry, bitter finish. ClubGonzo (5683) - Bergen, NORWAY - APR 6, 2012
Bottle from EtreGourmet webshop, shared with tmrmwel and a bunch of people in VANØ Bergen. Pitch black body, small beige head. Nose is whisky, wood, coffee and booze. Taste is hard roasted coffee, booze, burnt wood and hints of spices and dark chocolate. Smooth carbonation, slick and near-oily mouthfeel. OK, but not amazing. 0.33l bottle from etregourmet web shop. The pour on this one is as good as black. Deep dark brown on the border of black, and it has a quickly sidesticking chocolate-head. Not to extreme on the aroma at first, but when it got some temperature it got really nice. A good woody tone absolutely, a bit sweet and tones of both dark Belgian chocolate, coffee and smoke! Lots of it. It also has strong and rich smoky - almost peaty tones in the flavor this one. Lots of acidic dark roasted malts, quite warming. I somewhat feels that it’s lacking a bit body, while the carbonation level is located on the soft side of the scale. A nice one where the smoky, peaty touches are really well represented. 16.03.2012
