Opague, pitch black colour with an off-white head. Smells sweet, roasty, coffee and peat. Tastes sweet, roasty, nice peaty notes.. Quite good! Full body, great carbo.

Borefts 2011. Peat aroma, like a skibsl. Black colour. Small brown head. Imperial skibsl. A bit rough. Too peaty for me, I guess.

Bottle @ BBF11: Small light brown creme head on top of a black black beer. Smell smoke, peat, coal. Taste is a soft mix of roasted malts, peat, tar, hints of coffee, bitter and spices. Well balanced. Good bitter coffee aftertaste. Low carbo, soft silky mouthfeel, full body and a creamy light sticky texture. Good brew!

Bottle @ BBF2011. Black pour, tan head. Aroma of peat, iodine, roasted malts, chocolate and ash. Flavor is slightly bitter, smooth, chocolate, coffee, roasted and very nice. Smooth, thick texture.

Dark black colour with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige to light brown head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, roasted, smoke, tar, peat, moderate hoppy. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110923]

Sampled at Borefts Beer Festival @ De Molen, Bodegraven. Pitch black, opaque color, brown head. Smell peat, coffee, wood and whisky. Taste smoke, peat, coffee and whisky again. Medium carbonation, medium body.

On draught at the Boreft Beer Festival, 2011. A dark brown ale with a brown head. A big, smoky, peaty, iodine nose. Similar smoky flavour with roasted malt, burnt toast and caramel. Great!

Bottle @ Borefts Beer Festival. Pours black with a brown head. Aroma is gentle peated whiskey notes. espresso, roastyness, chocolate, sweet caramel and sweet liquorice. Taste is liquorice, smoke, somehow wool notes (not on the palate though), sawdust and hops.

Bottle at Borefts Bier Festival 2011. Pitch black coloured with a medium sized beige head. Roasted aroma of smoke and peat with notes of dark chocolate and burnt notes. Roasted flavour of smoke, peat and tar. Roasted finish. Too much peat.
