Black beer with a small mocca colored head. Smell is faint with some malty porter scents, smokey, with a light whisky aroma. But the taste is packed with flavor. After some sips the whisky really starts to come through. It has a malty base with some creamy chocolate, smokiness and light hoppiness. Quickly after it you get the whisky aroma followed with a robust roasted peaty bitter and a dry finish with the peat lingering a little bit. Mouthfeel is medium and creamy. This is one heck of a good balanced flavor packed porter/stout beer. The added peated whisky really brings something special to it. Way better then their regular IRS in my book :D
Bottle, bb date of 2013. Black oily pour. Aroma of peat, smoke, chocolate, coffee, ashy licorice and caramel. Taste has strong peat, molasses, chocolate, smoke, tarr, bitter licorice, caramel and bitter coffee. Holds up well after all these years, very good. Bottled. Near black, beige head. Sugar, peat, coffee and licorice up front. Very sweet with full body and rounded, syrupy mouthfeel. Sugar and peat, molasses and syrup. Warming finish. Heavy and filled with sugar. Sublirony (50) - SINGAPORE - JUN 12, 2015
Tap, Arendsnest. Pours very black, quite opaque. Nice head, great lacing. Lively rich noise: fruity, pearly, molasses. More molasses on the palate. Complex in the mouth. Finishes very dry. A delicious, Russian imperial stout, more restrained (elegant) and less voluptuous than some.

Great beer. Pours pitch black with a small beige head. Wonderful, complex aromas of peat, whiskey, smoke. Same taste, creamy, slightly sweet, no hard edges. Love this. soolash (213) - POLAND - DEC 22, 2014
Butelka 0,33 l. Aromat: Piana wzorowa: gęsta, zbita, bardzo drobna i trwała. Na dodatek świetnie oblepia ścianki szkła. Piwo jest czarne i nieprzejrzyste. Wygląd zasługuje na maksymalną ilość punktów. Piękne! W smaku słodkawe. Czuć słody palone i melanoidynę. Finisz cierpki i lekko czekoladowy, cierpki. 11% alkoholu pięknie ukryte w gorzkiej czekoladzie z nutami kawowymi. Odczucie w ustach bardzo treściwe. Piwo ma pełne ciało i aksamitną fakturę. Niskie nasycenie sprzyja chęci powolnego sączenia i zagłębiania się w bukiet smakowy. jinroh (2267) - ESTONIA - MAR 27, 2014
Pours pitch black, nice head. This brew is truly full of peat smoke. Alcohol sticks it to your nose like whiskey. Taste is incredibly peaty as well, peat smoke from the beginning to the end. Taste lingers for long. Very strong taste, actually quite sweet body, has also decent amount of hops and herbs. Really massive über-drink.
