bottle, thanks to joes for the trade. nutty brown with a thin head; honeyed woody aroma; hints of marzipan and a touch of cocoa powder; some tinny bitterness. decent

0,33l fles gedeeld met Nikos, extreem veel druk op de kurk eerst de keuken gesopt. Het notige karakter komt duidelijk naar boven. Even wennen maar daarna een aangenaam vol bier.

Opaque dark brown with small brown foam head. Aroma is propper sweet, caeamel, toffee, nutty. Tastes sweet, not too much, nutty, some floral. Caramel aroma. (Velp 201401)

Tasty bock beer, different from the masses. The chestnut come out well with the roasted malt.

Bottled 330ml Tnx Edo. Dark ruby color, good creamy beige head. Aroma has some hazelnut, caramel, grain and hints of vegetables and/or wood. Medium-bodied. Similar vegetably/woody flavors, I think it is hazelnut in its "raw" form. Some caramel. Certainly "hazelnoot" overrides here too much.

fles 33cl kleur: donkerbruin, flinke schuimkraag creme, geur: vooral hazelnoten, licht zoet smaak: vrij zoet, noten, veel koolzuur, niet prikkelend Bovengemiddeld lekker!

Murky brown, with a beautiful tan head. Aroma and taste actually have hazelnuts in it! Besides that its rather sweet and malty, with caramel and some earthiness. Very surprised and happy to find this (and the two other notenbocks of the series) in the local Mitraduring my vacation.

Aroma is a bit sour, but wow, the taste is great. This beer tastes of milk chocolate with hazelnuts, lactic acid, yeast and a bit of alcohol. Carbonation somewhat above average, but very soft on the tongue. I think they added brown sugar, since this is a very sweet beer.

330 ml long neck bottle, at home. Poured into a snifter glass. ABV 6.5% Very dark chestnut colour, with one finger of beige head, with average to low retention and no lacing left behind. Aroma is mostly of dry hazelnuts, or acorns to be more precise. Behind it, comes a chocolate malt aroma and some faint notes of alcohol. It may smell a bit weird at first, but as the time passes the aroma grows on me and I find it quite pleasant. Taste follows the aroma, lots of acorns flavour, a bit of chocolate as well, but actually the taste of the acorns peel covers pretty much everything. A light acidity on the aftertaste. Pleasantly drinkable, nevertheless. Medium body, average carbonation. Nice bock beer, different from the bocks I am used to, very interesting.

Bottle, many thanks to Bierkoning. Dark brown color with small beige head. Fruity aroma with caramel, chocolate, hazelnuts, earthy notes. Taste, roasted malt, red fruit, caramel, nuts, coffee. Coffee bitter finish. Not typical bock, but I liked it.
