Odeur de miel. pas de mousse. Bière crémeuse. Amertume prononcé et on sent bien l’alcool.

Either my senses (smell and taste) are off or this beer is a liquid version of a medicine for the throat. Well, to good thing is that the beer is enjoyable compared to the medicine I think of. Beside that, it is close to my definition of a Porter, something close to a stout.

black colour with a brown big head that leaves until the end, grat lace. Smell is roasty, with dark fruits, chocolate, licorice. Medium body, good carbonation, creamy palate. Taste of coffee, chocolate, licorice, dark fruits. Bitter finish.

Bottle. Dark porter body with a medium tall creamy head. Aroma has soft roast and some dry hoppiness. Also milky cocoa. Sweet roasty taste with a notch too thin body. Sweet finish with medium level dry hoppiness. Decent porter but not really world class like the score here suggests. Lacking in body and complexity.

suurjuust (3685) - ESTONIA - SEP 19, 2015
Dark brown beer, small tan head. Nose is grapefruity hops, roast, malt. Flavor is malty and roasty with chocolate hints, woody notes, finishes with more grapefruity hops, bitterness, roast. Light mouthfeel, palate is almost airy. Nice one.

Medium aroma of malts, caramel, vanilla, chocolate, mocha, roasted malts and coffee.

Turbid/opaque ruby/dark brown beer with a medium beige head.

Starts medium/heavy sweet with malts, caramel, vanilla, chocolate and mocha; ends slightly bitter and dry with roasted malts and coffee.

This beer is intense, complex and balanced. Had the pleasure to find a really old one in a local liquor store, that was shipped from one in Zeeland. What an amazing chocolate/mocha/coffee, especially for its abv. The aroma could have been stronger and the palate slightly thicker; but the flavour is what makes this beer.

330ml bottle. Very dark chestnut color. Medium size, tan head, stays. Roast, sweet, very faint alcohol, chocolate, slightly woody and mild smokiness in aroma. Roasted malts, woody, smoky, raw cocoa beans, moderate hops in taste. Cocoa beans and distant herbal hops in aftertaste. Carbonation is maybe bit high, but in other hand it gives the beer nice spicy crispness. Alcohol is very well hidden. Nice brew.
