larsga (7542) - Oslo, NORWAY - OCT 27, 2013
Biggish beige head. Clear, barely translucent, reddish brown body. Smoky earthy meaty aroma with phenolic chocolate notes. Dryish-sweet smoky chocolatey bonfire taste with earthy peaty notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dry roasty chocolatey earthy aftertaste with smoky barnyard notes. Nice, and drinkable, but very smoky and intense. (0.33l bottle, from wine monopoly, Vika, Oslo.)

Pours a dark brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma is heavy smoke, dried meat and hints of leather and peat as well. Definitely peat yes, a lot of peat in the taste. Moderate to high roasted flavor with a soft carbonation. Thick and creamy on the palate. A bit extreme.

A black body with a brown head. It had good retention and moderate lace. Heavy smoke on the aroma overtaking the roasted or coffee malts. Flavor seamed to have more balance. While the smoke flavor dominated the flavor there was just enough coffee flavors to stand out. Could not distinguish hops. Dry on the finish. Nice mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle 33 cl. Pours dark brown in color with a creamy tan head. Smoked ham, sweet malty notes and some dark chocolate in aroma. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Smoked ham, slightly burnt dark roasted coffee and a bit of peaty sweetness lingering underneath in taste. Long smoky aftertaste. Tasteful brew even if feels slightly thin. A bit of salty licorice can be found under that long-lasting smoky ham and slightly sweet malty finish as well.

Idiosynkrasie (7539) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - AUG 24, 2013
330ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with average, creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, beige head. Smoky aroma, lots of peat, a touch of shoe polish. Taste is dry dark malty, intense peat note, tarmac, bitter hoppy overtones. Extreme peat note - I like it.

PriorL (3068) - Gent, BELGIUM - AUG 16, 2013
33cl bottle at home, shared with Mathieu87. APPEARANCE: pitch black beer, stable beige head. NOSE: smoked! not balanced, ardbeg, charcoal, and some eugenol even! TASTE: smoked, but more balanced than the nose. BUT: the aftertaste is smoked and lots and lots of eugenol... the aftertaste was almost like getting a dental filling just placed in my mouth... didn’t really enjoy this one
