3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
A black body with a brown head. It had good retention and moderate lace. Heavy smoke on the aroma overtaking the roasted or coffee malts. Flavor seamed to have more balance. While the smoke flavor dominated the flavor there was just enough coffee flavors to stand out. Could not distinguish hops. Dry on the finish. Nice mouthfeel.

Bottle at home. Pours a dark brown to black. Aroma is deeply smoky - like a forest fire. Flavor follows with lots of roast and mild bitterness. Not much maltiness at all. Overall, a very nice beer, and generally, I don’t like the style. RichTheVillan (8443) - Birmingham, West Midlands, ENGLAND - MAR 23, 2014
Bottle thanks to jmgreenuk cheers John; dark brown pour with thin creamy beige head, smokey peaty Whisky aroma, taste had a lot of phenols coming through, hint of roasted malts, coffee and chocolate but they are struggling to be noticed over the medicinal action, not a style of beer for me. Rating #2700. 33cl bottle. Near black color, thick light brown head. Peaty nose, smoke, sweetness, roasted malt. Nice aroma, like the strong peaty notes. Flavor has tar, smoke, lactose sweetness, mild coffee notes and roastedness. Finish is long with smoke lingering. smooth, oily mouthfeel. Solid.Armadill0 (362) - FINLAND - FEB 8, 2014

Bottle. Pitch black with a minute light brown head. Aroma has tar, wood smoke and soy.
Taste has wood, little citrus, some roasted malt. Bitter middle and finish. Some piny notes on the aftertaste. Wolfbass (1211) - Firenze, ITALY - FEB 1, 2014

OleR (4801) - Oslo, NORWAY - JAN 9, 2014
Sampled from bottle. Dark brown with good clarity. Low tanned head. Ashy and quite so peaty aroma. Hint of dark bread, chocolate and licorice. More than medium full. Soft dryish mouthfeel. Ash/smoke and peat in the flavor, too. Tarry roastiness. Choco and coffee tones. Moderate hop bitterness Lingering roasty and peaty finish. Pretty good, pretty challenging.

Bottle, at Haand Festival. An almost clear one, dark brown in color and with a small, beige head on top. The aroma is peaty and roasted, with some coffee and toast, and hints of chocolate. There’s some sweetness in the flavor, which as the aroma leans heavily towards peat and roasted malts. Some coffee too. Dry on the palate, full-bodied and with a pleasant carbonation. Lasting finish. A tasteful one, but I prefer a regular porter or a smoked porter with normal smoked malt, not the peated kind. 130525 MarcoDL (5470) - NETHERLANDS - DEC 14, 2013
Great beer. Body of smoked malt and some sweet caramelised malt. With some nice hops to bring balance. erickok (6036) - Leuven, BELGIUM - NOV 2, 2013
Dark brown body and stable beige head. Grainy smoke, toast, earthy, barn, not much hops, clean yeast. Not much porter. Rich taste and thin body. Good brew, lot of taste. (33cl bottle from Dranken Geers)
