Bottle made a loud popping sound when opening. Loads of foam with the first pour. I’m afraid I have a faulty bottle. Aroma: metallic, some roast and some sweetness. Taste: coffee, sweet and some vanilla. Loads of carbonation.

Piwo o czarnej barwie, piana bezowa, obfita, drobnopecherzykowa. Smaczne.

Small brown-cream head over deep dark brown beer; end of bottle solid yeast. Sweet nose with vanilla (surprise, surprise), but also a whiff of chlorine. Milkchocolate, praliné. Bitter, quite woody. Much drier than the nose suggests. The vanilla is present, but not overwhelming, nearly subdued. Pretty dry, even near-astringent, despite a soft texture. Medium bodied, medium carbonation. It is stout, there is vanilla, and hardly ice cream - thank heavens. If I want ice cream, I’ll order a cornicle, not a bottle of beer.

Draft - Dark sweet roast. Jet black brown with a nice light brown head. Dark roast sweet malts and vanilla. Another sweet vanilla Stout, not badly done, just typical.

Bottle, BB 06.2018 (from UJH). Pours dark brown with beigeish head. Aroma is massive vanilla, some malt, and booze. Flavor is sweet and bitter, ash, vanilla, chocolate, malt. Finish is ashtray bitter. Body is on the thinner side. Carbonation is rather low. Overall: ok-ish. Feels stale and I’m not a fan of ashtray malts.

Draft @ Brouwcafé de Molen. Pours a very dark brown beer with a medium sized, creamy light beige head on top. Aroma of vanilla, lactose, lots of vanilla actually, slight roast and toast. Flavor starts off fairly bitter, but soon mellows into a sweet vanilla sensation with a soft carbonation and creamy mouthfeel. Very nicely balanced, full flavored despite low abv. The aftertaste remains in there for a long time and is quite sweet. Nice one!!

Smaakt heerlijk. Vanille, vol, rijk. Toppertje.

Schade.

Richardvv94 (102) - Valthe, NETHERLANDS - MAY 6, 2017
