Pure class! Beautiful aroma of coffee, grass, red berries and several other things. Taste of licorice and a perfect level of bitterness. Lovely-looking too. Bassadam (15) - Prague, CZECH REPUBLIC - NOV 30, 2012
My first experience with this beer style... and surely not last. Rich lightly sour taste with nice bitter end. alfhansen (35) - Bryne, NORWAY - AUG 5, 2012
33 cl bottle at home. Saved this for International Beer Day, and this one certainly did not dissapoint. Very heavy biscuity and dried fruit aroma also a bit of citrus. Nice caramel and biscuit flavour, very complex and does a good job concealing it’s very rough 10% ABV. A very surprising and distinct chinooky finish makes this one of the better barley wines i have had so far. My girlfriends comment was "it taste like good rum", and i can not fault that, it actually does. tderoeck (9656) - Gent, BELGIUM - APR 25, 2014
10/IV/14 - 33cl bottle from... Kees maybe? Don’t remember, I’ve had it in my beer fridge like forever. Drank @ home - BB: XII/2013 (2014-360) If I got it from Kees, then thanks a lot for the bottle! If not, then just thanks for making such an awesome beer(s)!Fin (10531) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - MAR 4, 2012
Clear red purple beer, small irregular beige head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very fruity, bubble gum, peach candy, some caramel, sugary, sweet, red lace candy, strawberry jam. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: lots of strawberry, other red fruits jam, some overripe banana, pretty sweet, caramel, some citrus, soft bitter touch. Aftertaste: very fruity, raspberry and cherry candy, bitter hops, some caramel, sugary, red lace candy. Lovely!
On tap at De Wildeman, Amsterdam, 02.03.12 Pours amber with a white head. This is initially quite furiously both bitter & sweet with an emphasis on the bitterness. There are some dusty hops and a significant warming from the alcohol. Citrussy (lemony) under that sweetness with a slight pithy edge. A7 A4 T9 P4 Ov17 4.1

Barley wine greatness from Emelisse. Somehow they mixed the sweetness of a barley wine with the smooth bitterness of hops. Really good. Benzai (15579) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - FEB 2, 2012
Sampled @ PINT Winterbierfestival, Gouda 2012. Slightly hazy dark amber color, small off-white head. Smell slightly malts, pretty hoppy, slightly sweet. Taste malts, sweet, alcohol, hops. Full carbonation, medium body. MrHangover (4502) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - APR 5, 2013
Bottle. Pours a clear dark amber, tea like colour with a small beige head. Aroma is full of malts, caramel, madeira. Flavour is quite sweet and a bit alcoholic, but again backed up by strong malty base. Even carries a bit of a hoppy bite in the end of the flavour. Long lasting, bittersweet aftertaste. Nice in balance and a great sipper! Abijen (2571) - ’s-Hertogenbosch, NETHERLANDS - APR 20, 2014
Pours a dark orange muddy brown unclear beer with a good white head. Smells alcohol alot, bourbon, vanilla. Tastes chocolate, vanilla, raisins, alcohol. Heavy shit. Average carbo, thick body and a sticky texture. Bit too old maybe but still very good. esp0r (2917) - NORWAY - JUN 12, 2012
Bottle from Vika enjoyed at home
Amber red, tanned head. Smells of dark fruits, dried fruits and some caramel malts. Heavy sweet, quite malty, dense fruits and raisins all the way. Finish with heavy bitterness, resins and some fruit tendensies. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. A heavy barleywine for sure that is on the fruity side. Quite enjoyable and would really fit in a big snifter in front of the fireplace at winter.
