Bottle. Hazy amber beer with a small white head. Aroma is malty with notes of caramel, sherry, herbs and vanilla. Flavor is malty with notes of caramel, toffee, herbs, nuts and vanilla. Wow, intense oakiness balanced with lots of malty goodness.

Garrold (5673) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - AUG 18, 2014
Bottle from Beermoth, Manchester. Nearly clear, amber colour. Thin halo of white head. Blimey, this is big! Sweet, boozy grain. Imagine a tin of strawberries, stuck in a pan, and reduced down. With a slug of woody, thick booziness added. Some minty toffee, too. Palate is rich, slick, and fruity. Taste is sweet, boozy, and bitter, all rolled in to one. Finishes chewy bitter. Lip sticky goodness. The Missus loves it. I’m less convinced.

Bottle. Hazy/unclear orange, no head. Sugar caramel, vanilla, coconut, hot alcohol. Medium body, sticky texture, soft carbonation, near heavy sweet, medium bitterness. Sticky and sugary. Ok, but this type of beer has a tendency to wear me out quickly.

Leighton (22525) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 17, 2014
Bottle shared during the RBESG 2014 London Grand Tasting - Moncada Brewery. Pours clear golden-amber with a mellow foamy head. The nose has nice toffee character, ripe fruits, bread. Hugely sweet with moderate alcohol presence, rich bread, caramel, dry citrus, stewed apples. Big bodied with average carbonation. Warm and sticky to finish, very sugary, with lots of ripe fruits and bready malts. Good stuff but really hefty.

.33cl bottle courtesy of angst, Thanks. Pours hazy reddish brown color with a small beige head that slowly recedes to a fine film. The aroma features toffee, pears, sherry and a trace of whiskey. The taste is big one toffee, sherry and mild whiskey with bitter walnuts filling in the back and sides. The palate was full, smooth and just a bit oil with lively carbonation. Finished long and slightly sweet with lingering toffee and bitters. Overall: First rate BW, much enjoyed--thanks again.
