UPDATED: DEC 28, 2013 (29/09/2013) Sampled draft @ Borefts 2013. Amber orange with only some bubbles for a head. S & T incredibly rich vanilla, wood, such slickness for a barley wine, flowers, thick caramel, sticky toffee, incredible oak notes, warming, bourbon, bit sticky, rich & slick. Such an incredible beer. ///// Sampled 33 cl. bottle @ Modeste 2013. Every bit just as good. BelgBeerGeek (1308) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - SEP 30, 2013
My favorite Barley Wine at Borefts festival ! Abijen (2571) - ’s-Hertogenbosch, NETHERLANDS - NOV 18, 2013
Such a smooth and yet very tasty Barley Wine, the bourbon comes out soo nicely and not too sweet, the beer itself has a nice sweet flavour of vanilla, bourbon, barley and a bit of dates, soo good !
Pours a beautiful dark orange beer with a not very long lasting white head. Smells vanilla, bourbon and milk. Tastes chocolate, vanilla, and milk. I love this stuff. Low carbo, medium body and a sticky oily texture. Another great barley wine from emelisse.
@Borefts. This is an amazing beer. A complex balance of caramel, vanilla, oak and the awesomeness of the aging on bourbon barrels.

Draft at BBF’13tderoeck (9744) - Gent, BELGIUM - NOV 12, 2013
Hazy hazelnut color. Tan head. Aroma is vanilla, oak, malts. Taste like aroma, strong barley wine taste. Some alcohol. Full body, good carbo. Probably the best beer at Borefts ’13.

Clear ruby red beer, creamy white to light beige head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet and sugary, lots of vanilla, caramel, alcohol, dried fruits. MF: soft carbon, full body. Taste: sweet start with lots of vanilla, cherries, some dried fruits, bit sugary, soft alcohol notes. Aftertaste: little sourish, lots of vanilla, some caramel, bit sugary, sweet, some citrus, slightly hoppy. What a lovely beer!
UPDATED: MAR 13, 2014 bottle at home for my 500th review. bought a bottle for just 3 euro’s. poured a orange amber colour with a non lasting head. bourbon hits the nose while pouring. lot of vanilla, sweet caramel, almonds, oak, milky smooth mouthfeel, only bad thing about it is that the bourbon is to overwelming for a barley wine. balance is a bit gone by the intense bourbon hit
I need to re-rate this! boy this beer is insane! got it served after 1.5 hour in the fride. the bourbon combination with the vanilla is insane! Garlic_of_Doom (645) - SWEDEN - APR 29, 2014
Hazy amber with a tiny white head.
Aroma has bourbon, vanilla, coconut, lots of sweetness, some alcohol.
Taste has bourbon, vanilla, loads of caramel malt/fudge, chocolate, spicy/peppery notes, herbal bitterness, woody notes, alcohol heat at the end.
Full body, low carbonation, thick and sticky.
Woody, peppery alcohol filled after taste.
