Irgendwie eigenwillig. Soft, spritzig und styleuntypisch. Muss ich nochmal aus der Flasche verputzen :). Fassware im ARENDSNEST, Amsterdam. Auch süffig ;)... martjoobolut (4947) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - MAY 15, 2017
Bottle (as Emelisse Barley Wine, 12% ABV, BB 12.2019). Pours dark ruby with beige head. The head stays. Aroma is sweet, malty, boozy, some fruits, caramel. Flavor is sweet and bitter, caramel, malt, hoppy dryness. Finish is dry hoppy bitterness with malty sweetness. Feels almost bockish (and that’s a good thing). Overall: very good sipper. skortila (5966) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - FEB 27, 2017
Bottled. The aroma has toffee/caramel, dried fruit, some dust. Bit hazy, amber coloured beer with not much head. The taste is light bitter, moderate sweet, has caramel and dried fruits mainly. Body is a little thin for a barley wine. vincentvega72 (844) - Terneuzen, NETHERLANDS - FEB 24, 2017
UPDATED: FEB 24, 2017 Mooi robijnrood bier met mooie stabiele crèmekleurige schuimkraag. Mooi zoetig aroma en smaak van aardbei, confituur, rood fruit. Lekkere subtiele warme, licht bittere, afdronk. Zeer goed in balans. Prachtige barley-wine. Sarpa (1629) - FINLAND - FEB 18, 2017

[27/2/13] Bottle from De Molen Beershop Online. Light orange body with medium head. Nose is malty, sweet, barley. Taste is similar, lots of malts, and fruits and caramel. Punch and full of barley flavors. Good stuff. mariuspoenari (2954) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - DEC 13, 2015
Pours a dark amber liquid, a bit like a bourbon. Little foam. Smells sweet, of roasted malt, caramel, maple syrup and alcohol. The taste is similar to the smell, with caramel and maple syrup, along with a nice hop bitterness and a warming alcohol feel. Super smooth mouthfeel, like most good barley wines. A good base beer for the barrel aged versions to come.

[ As Emelisse White Label Barley Wine 2012 ].
Clear medium orange amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, sweet malt, dried fruit, wood - toabacco, bread notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light bitter with a long duration, sweet malt, dried fruit, wood - tobaccoo. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat, finish feel is light alcoholic.
33 cl bottle @ Sankt Hans Tasting, Ulfborg.
Aroma is surprisingly mild with hay, cereal, biscuits and some sweet whisky notes. Flavour has stinging whiskey, alcohol, toffee, caramel and menthol. Alcohol becomes even buring after some sips. Too much alcohol and too stuffy, drinkability is not that great.
