Level 42 Bottleshare. Thanks to Danny. Almost clear dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is smooth and a little soft, reasonable fine carbonation. Soft malts, a little malt cream and mild dark chocolate. Smooth coffee. Mild spice. Tangy fruits. Smooth dry finish brings a little alcohol spice. Nice, not picking up to much of the peaty barrel.

July 2017 - Bottle share at Mr Tipple 5K, Canary Wharf. As 'Emelisse White Label Coffee Stout (Bruichladdich)', 2015 vintage. Wasn't sure whether to open this young to get the coffee character or aged to let the peat vibes become more complex. Turns out that the peat is very light, so this one maybe should have been opened fresh. Anyway, it pours almost opaque black, slightest red hue, foamy brown head leaves light lacing. Aroma is spicy, black pepper, charred bell pepper, chocolate liqueur. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is chocolate, ashy, very light peat smoke, soft coffee. Good. (7-4-8-4-15=3.8)
