UPDATED: MAY 2, 2015 Keg at Arendsnest, 28th March 14. Black, nose is whiskey, some peat, a little smoke. Taste is whiskey, lots of peat, bitter, lingering finish. Too much peat for my taste, over powered the other elements I like, such as liquorice and leather, still an enjoyable drink

frape. Black no head no carbonation. Fine smooth heavy mouthfeel. Intens phenols. Peat. The bitterness is hidden in the alcohol. Great smokey brew. Lagavulin.
bottle shared with mowbeer. about as close to black as possible with a thin sliver of a brown head; aroma of gooey caramel chocolate with a hint of whisky smoke; loads of sweetness, luscious more than sickly, iced doughnuts, some mudcake in the finish. __Rb81 (789) - NETHERLANDS - FEB 26, 2014
Bottle at home. Pours black with a small tan head. Lots of peat and heavy smoke in the aroma. Some alcohol, whiskey tones underneath. Taste is sweet with a lot of smoke, burned sugar, peat, and a bitter, burned, aftertaste. Nice, but a bit too much smoke and peat for my taste. antonstoop (295) - - FEB 24, 2014
A brown to black beer, with little to no head. The nose is peat, coffee, alcohol and dry. It is a medium bodied beer, with little carbonation. The taste is dark chocolat with loads of peat. But not much more, a bit disapionting. The aftertaste is peat, salmiak and bitter. Overal not one of the best BA of emelisse.
