Draft 0.15l at Proeflokaal Arendsnest Amsterdam, The Netherlands. 03.06.2016. Taste with cika Boban. Pour it dark color with small black head. Aroma of coffee, some red fruits. Taste starts with maybe too much smoked woody feel for me, continues with coffee, at the end good balance, long finish with sourish after taste. Good

Arômes de chocolat, robe noire, mousse beige stable, faible carbonation. En bouche, cacao, amertume et grains torréfiés. Corps onctueux qui soutien le tout.

330ml bottle BB Dec 2020. Impenetrable black with nice foamy persistent mocha head. Oak and peat smoke immediately apparent in the aroma, along with vanilla, roasted meat, leather, dark chocolate. Very smoky and oaky in flavour too, with big molasses, dark chocolate, espresso, vanilla, dry oak tannins. Quite dry and roasty in the finish. Medium to full bodied and lightly acidic. Really good but would’ve benefited from further aging to round it.

On tap at Arendsnest in Amsterdam. Pours a murky dark brown, almost black with a strong beige head. Aroma is totally like Isle Whiskey with peat notes. Taste is very complex: dark fruits, burnt malt, peat, smokey. Burnt malt, peat aftertaste. Amazing!

Soft and creamy in mouthfeel, a lots of smoke in the taste. Good blending with the very nice imp stout

330ml bottle (thanks FatPhil). Pitch black color. Huge size, brown head, stays. Peat, smoky, woody, oak, whiskey, sweetish in aroma. Peat, bit earthy, oak, smoky, woody, sweet in taste. Smoked peat is everywhere in aftertaste. Long lasting pleasure in mouth. Soft carbonation. Tannin-like "bitterness". Drying mouthfeel, but then again awakes saliva glands. Fantastic brew! More!

330ml bottle (Uba ja Humal, Tallinn)
Black, tight persistent tan head. Really deep dry peaty burntness in the aroma, Tarry, smells like there was a fire here a week ago. Super rich full palate, hugs the tongue, pleasant carbonation stops it being heavy. Taste rich and burnt, a proper seriously stout stout. But a massive burnt tarry peatiness too, Sweetish, but not sugary or sticky. Lots of heavy in this, but amazingly it’s not that heavy. Don’t get 11% from this - in fact it’s remarkably mellow. Finish a pleasant burntness, no astringency, and some peatiness. Such a contrast against the Bruichladdich one, which was a booze bomb monstrosity. Still beer with stuff added, but good beer, and good stuff.
