[email protected] Heavily peated aroma. Black, small brown head, good lace, pours very thick. Sweet, chocolate, liqourice, coffee but mainly lots of peat. Full bodied. Not very easy going obviously. And I must admit you gotta love peated whisky. But if you do its a wonderful beer.

An impressive stout. Close your eyes and you think you are smelling a fine whisky. This is a top class stout that is a delight for everyone who loves their beers above average. The body is light and the palate not too special, but the taste is a joy.

Bottle. I poured quite aggressively (from high and fast) but still hardly any head. Brown in color, though. The beer is almost pitch black. No, its not pitch black. Light penetrates the fringe of the surface, revealing a very dark brown (almost black) color. The aroma that mostly comes through is a noticeable whiskey. The flavors are nice; some whiskey at the start, some mossy smoke and some sweetness. Mouthfeel is smooth but not creamy. Finish is a bit of bitter smoke.

The BA in this does not come through as hints; its very noticeable. The aroma, and to a lesser degree the flavors, of Scotch, are not my thing. But still, this is a good beer. Im a fan of imperial stouts. Aging it in an Ardbeg cask cant ruin it THAT badly for me!

On tap at Haand lfestival. Pitch black with a nice, beige head. Loveley smell of Ardbeg! Peaty and smoky aroma with dark fruits, hints of licorice and dark chocolate. Full bodied with slightly soft carbonation. Medium sweet with lovely Ardbeg flavour and a smoky and peaty finish. Very well balanced and simply delicious. Excellent! (2013-05-25)

Very complex brew. Basis is an intense imperial stout with strong notes of whiskey. Aftertaste is simply amazing, it lastes more than a minute.
