Sample from bottle at Haand Festival 2012lembeek (143) - ITALY - MAY 15, 2012
Black, thin laced tanned head. Smells of peaty and smoky islay whisky, some liquorice, coffee and roasted malts hidden behind that islay wall. Fantastic aroma i must say. Nice malty body, heavy sweet, then there really is some nice dark flavors ruled by the peaty whisky. Full body, soft carbonation, some bitter finish. This is beer for the whisky lover for sure
Aroma di Whisky torbato con note di liquirizia, caffè e malti tostati. Perfetta corrispondenza naso-bocca. Beer5000 (6598) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JUN 7, 2012
On draft @ HaandBryggeriet Beer festival 2012. Black body with a small beige head. Nice aroma of dark peated malt, roast and whisky. Flavor is sweet roasted malt, peat, whisky, oak and a nice bitterness. Full body and peated whisky in aftertaste. Very nice. tmrmwel (2180) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUN 12, 2012
Bottle. Pours very dark, almost black, with a very little but coloured creamy head. Aroma is definitely smoky, with notes of burned malts, peat, BA oak and some sweet toffee thrown in. The body is full and oily, with a very soft carbonation. Flavour is nice and dark with chocolate, liquorice and coffee. Nice finish. trevor211 (1681) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUN 16, 2012
Black, tan head. Chocolate and beef jerky on the nose – a good amount of peat in here overlaying the cacao and molasses. Flavor is a bit boozier, with the smoke holding out until the end. Not too thick, very drinkable, with a really lovely peat overtone. Really nice – great balance between the peat and sweetness of the underlying stout.

Pours deep dark red, almost black color with no head. Aroma of very strong whiskey, dark malts, some chocolate and cocoa and mild wood and vanilla notes. Flavour of whiskey, malts, cocoa, vanilla and hints of coffee. More like a whiskey than a beer.
Pours almost black, with a brown head.
Huge, clearly smoky aroma, malt, chocolate, oak, vanilla, peat, coffee, tobacco.
Semi-sweet, full bodied, medium bitterness, balanced CO2.
Very smoky, oaked taste, vanilla, peat, iodine, malt, coffee beans, tobacco. Complex, slightly burning, ashy finish.

Pours pitch black with a light brown head. Aroma of strong peated notes, roasty malts, hints of smoke and licorice. Taste is strongly peated and smoked with some hints of roasty malts, licorice, vanilla and oak. Finish is again heavy on peaty notes, with some smooth licorice and wooden notes. Awesome if you like Islay whiskies, but the peatiness dominates perhaps a bit too much.
Pours an average light brown frothy head that mostly diminishes. Body is flat black. Aroma contains roasted and burnt malts, caramel, milk chocolate, mild coffee, grass, orange and lemon, dough, leather, earth, banana, grape, raisin, cask wood, smoke, licorice, alcohol, spices, peat and whiskey. Flavor starts off light acidic and light bitter, to go to sweet and light bitter and to finish peaty and bitter. Body is medium to full with creamy texture and soft carbonation. Less fruity and more peaty than Emelisse standard Russian Imperial Stout. The Ardbeg whiskey brings a nice addition to the flavors but doesn't improve the beer, just changes it. solros (88) - stockholm, SWEDEN - APR 17, 2013
The beer tastes and has a whiff of smoke, raisins with a sweet combination. A very good beer, though it has a high content of alcohol that I can not feel. Drink it like to dessert.
