330 mel bottle. Pours black with very light head. Aromas of peat smoke and black coffee. Flavors of peat smoke, grass, heavily roasted malts, vanilla and coffee. Smooth smokiness that does not get overpowered by the ABV. DwarfeD (3539) - Amersfoort, NETHERLANDS - MAY 22, 2014
33cl bottle from BierNavigatie. Dark brown (almost black) with a small tan head. Full body with light to moderate carbonation. Sweet with some coffee and herbal tones. Coffee, chocolate, brown sugar, caramel, wood, herbs, warming alcohol and dark fruits. A woody imperial stout with a nice whiskey vibe. JulienHuxley (5980) - Sherbrooke, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 19, 2014
Bottle at Tom?s apartment. Opaque black with thin but lacy brown foam. Aroma is really smoky, peated, but with some chocolaty notes as well, even a bit of vanilla. Taste is smoky, peaty, the strong sweet imperial stout flavors seem able to support the load however, lending some "balance" to the mix. Palate is heavy, full bodied with light-med carbonation. Quite nice once you can tame the peaty aroma. tom10101 (6297) - Quebec, CANADA - MAY 19, 2014
Bottle (330 ml). Black with a small ring of beige foam. Aroma is heavily peated with tobacco, light chocolate and caramel. Taste is also heavily peated with tobacco, chocolate and caramel. Full bodied. Moderate carbonation. Lingering peated finish. The good thing about the peat is that it hide the alcohol. The bad thing is that it also hide almost everything else. Balance isn’t perfect at all, but it isn’t horrible either. Really peat forward. It’s still a pretty good RIS. Christos (5909) - Arnhem, NETHERLANDS - MAY 5, 2014
Bottle 330 ml at home, into a snifter. ABV 11% as the others.
Pours a pitch black beer, with a small and thin dark brown head, mostly consisting of big bubbles, but with great retention.
Aroma of whiskey, peat, roasted malts and coffee, a bit of alcohol.
Taste is once again great, lots of roasted malts and their light bitterness, vanilla, light alcohol but in general very well hidden, whiskey, a bit of smoke on the finish.
Full body, low carbonation, sticky on the palate.
Another well done from Emelisse.

Pours a pitch black beer with a slowly growing tan brown head. Beautiful. Smells paint, peated, roasted, ash and coffee. Tastes chocolate, coffee bitter, peated, roasted. Nice! Low carbo, medium to thick body and an oily texture. omega (899) - NEW ZEALAND - APR 29, 2014
I can see why people could hate this beer as the Islay whisky influence is strong. I love Ardbeg so this is an almost perfect marriage of beer and whisky. Soft and cloying, but not subtle this is a beer that demands your attention. I would say under-carbonated but I can say I am happily sitting here like a dog lapping up peanut butter. UPDATED: APR 26, 2014 Dark as the night, sweet chocolate barrel-tastic nose. Thick syrupy body, sweet dark malts, chocolate and coffee notes with undertones of tropical fruits. Finishes with a nice heavy bitterness leaving you wanting more. Bosbouw (3037) - Gemonde, NETHERLANDS - APR 25, 2014
Dikke structuur. Lekker!
