Bottle, 33cl. It pours deeply dark with no head, just a remnant. Must be the barrel that took it away. The scent is unbelievable. It actually smells like a barrel with a very intense aroma of eroded wood mixed with whiskey malt (and I assure you that it is a *very* fine whiskey), peatbog, smoked caramel and dark chocolate. I could smell this beer for a day. And that?s just a beggining. One would expect that due to very intense barrel aromas the taste will be whiskey-dominated. But not only the base beer is there, it is up-lifted by the barrel aging. The wave of very sticky sweetness that tastes like extracted and concentrated whiskey-malt dominates the mouth but develops into lingering bitterness that crawls like a snake in the background. Meanwhile a very enjoyable dryness on the tongue and spicy touches on the mouth sides are perceptible. The aftertaste is very looong and built of bittersweet feelings that fullfils the mouth. Full bodied with oily texture is the one that leaves me completely overwhelmed. Amazingly complex and balanced drink, a combination of single malt whiskey, wooded barrel, roasted caramel and spices. If one does not like the essence of whiskey and peat, this one may be to extreme. For me, it is definately the best RIS I had so far. ZodiacM (1380) - NETHERLANDS - FEB 24, 2015
Mondgevoel is olieachtig. Erg mooie balans tussen het bier en de whisky. Zwiebel88 (637) - GERMANY - JAN 25, 2015

Opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Big TCP nose, not pleasant. Palate is smooth and dry with mild fine carbonation. Smooth semi dry dark malts. Mild alcohol spice. Touch of dry lactose. Dominated by big TCP. Dry finish. TCP lingers on. Way too peaty TCP for me.
Black, no head. Aroma of smoke, peat and leather. Flavour is dry, woody, smokey. Has an oily texture with no carbonation. Overall it’s too peaty and smokey. Somewhat out of balance. Iznogud (4991) - CROATIA - NOV 23, 2014

Pitch black oily color. Nice smoked-peated aromas. Roasted malt taste...smooth smoked aftertaste.
