Bottle. Pours black. Tan head. Nose of chocolate, oak, peat and roasted dark malts. Taste is a big step down - way too much whiskey barrel. Tastes mostly like whiskey with charred oak, chocolate and ash. Medium body. kermis (14484) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - JUL 20, 2011
33 bottle in the cellar. Black pour with a small tan head. Aroma has peat, roasted malt, dark fruit and caramel. The flavour is sweet with some scotch, roasted malt, chocolate, peat and a bit of coffee. Dry bitter finish with some alcohol. Great beer. Tmoney99 (14860) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 8, 2011
Bottle shared by shigadeyo. Poured a dark brown color with an average frothy brown head that lasted with fair lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted chocolate, raisins and woody sweet bourbon aroma. Medium sweet roasted malt flavor with a medium sweet and small alcohol bite finish of moderate duration. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a complex good beer.

33 cl bottle. Dark brown, almost black body. When poured in the glass you get a small beige head. But that dissapears almost immediatly. It’s like you drink a cold coffee. The aroma is not that great, coffee that’s been on the table for a while and gets bitter with hints of dark chocolate. The taste However is great. Again coffee, dark chocolate. Vollmundiger Antrunk, später sind Holznoten klar erkennbar. Das Bier nimmt Bockbiercharackter an und wird süßer, zum Ende auch allkohollastig. Dezent röstig, vor allem im Abgang stark malzig. /9/9/11//10

Draught on the Alvinne Craft Beer Festival 2011!
In the glass pitch black, with a good creamy head. The smell is coffee-like bitter, with lots of chocolate malts and very subtly whiskey aromas. Starts malty sweet, slightly whiskey-taste, low carbonated. Slight aromas of roasted coffee and caramel, chocolate and a little whiskey flavor. The aftertaste is short and sweet, slightly sweet malty, caramelized sugar. anders37 (26878) - Malmö, SWEDEN - MAR 12, 2011
Bottle. Pours a black color with some ruby hints and a small tan head. Has a roasted malty chocolate and whisky barrel aroma with weak peaty hints. Roasted malty chocolate and licorice flavor with weak peaty barrel hints. Has a roasted malty chocolate and licorice finish. RoyceH (1200) - Hesperange, LUXEMBOURG - MAR 11, 2011
Draught at ACBF. Opaque black, bubbly head that collapses quickly. Nose is salty, alcohol, whisky. Toasted malts, peat. Mouth is peaty, full of malty silkiness, smooth with an alcohol hit. Quite an enjoyable beer, slight barrel domination.
