Black, no head. Aroma of Rauchbier and Whisky. Similar taste, conbined with bitterness. Long aftertaste of Whisky, bitterness, dark coffee and alcohol. But why not buy a proper Scotch instead? tandembrauer (1485) - Stavanger, NORWAY - JAN 6, 2014
Bottle at Cardinal. Black, heavily peated smoke taste. Some sweetness, a lot of Scotch whisky. Share a bottle - 0.33 l is too much in one go. Holmen1 (5874) - Stavanger, NORWAY - JAN 6, 2014
Fra flaske på Cardinaltreff jan-13: flytende impregnering, et must for trebåtentusiaster. Nærmer seg brudd på røykeloven. Et øl med stort særpreg og stolt personlighet. Turtallet varmer i magen. Sigmund (7487) - Tau, NORWAY - JAN 3, 2014
330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 11%, EBU 75. Pitch black colour, low and coarse beige head. Strong aroma of peated whisky, oak, iodine and sea air - and of course roasted malts. Moderately sweet flavour, plenty of roasted malts and decent hops, but the flavour is first and foremost dominated by peat and iodine from the whisky barrel. Not really my favourite flavours. Some warmth from the alcohol. rosenbergh (11532) - Tampere, FINLAND - NOV 24, 2013

Dark brown colour with a tiny tan head.
Super strong peat... some whiskey and smoke in the aroma.
Peat also dominating the flavour. It’s like light whiskey. Alcohol kicks in quite strongly. Alcohol also in the aftertaste.

Pours dark red color with a minimal head. Aroma of peat, some dark fruits, malts and vanilla. Flavor of malts, soy, salt, bourbon and faint vanilla. Quite aggressive.

Quite obvious, sweet whisky aroma with some peat. Flavour has herbs, whisky notes, lots of peat and smoke. Quite strong on whisky and peat; hard to even realize that this is beer I am having. Too sweet and sticky, but not bad. The last sips were quite high on salmiac.

Pours pitch black with a small light brown head. Aroma of whisky, peat, roastiness, licorice, hints of sweet syrup and sugar. Taste is peaty, roasty and woody with loads of whisky, vanilla and oaky notes. Finish is heavy, peaty and sweetish with notes of roastiness licorice and oak. Extremely heavy on peatiness, almost feels like a light version of an Islay whisky.
330 ml bottle, thanks laiti. Pours a dark brown colour with a minimal head. Aroma is very intense with peat, earthiness and licorice. Flavour is full-on malty with smoke, tar, heavy peat, salt and grass. Full bodied, thin mouthfeel and a long, warming, malty finish with heavy peatiness. Alcohol is clearly there. More of a whisky than a beer. Gorm (1899) - Sandnes, NORWAY - SEP 12, 2013
