Clear dark brown to black beer, small to no head, few big unstable bubbles, that’s it. Aroma: sweet, dried fruits, alcohol, whiskey, caramel. MF: no carbon, full body. Taste: very sugary, alcohol, lots of vanilla, sweet, dark chocolate, some coffee. Aftertaste: alcohol, bitter hops, vanilla, coffee, roasted, dark chocolate, bitter finish. Nice one!
Bottle @ 5th ACBF 2012. A pitch black colored beer, with almost no head. The aroma of vanilla with wood, chocolate notes, dark malt and some gentle whisky notes. The taste of dark fruits, vanilla, wood notes with whisky. The aftertaste is nice bitter with a little sweet. IluvatarMilan (309) - Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 9, 2012
Bottle. Clear oily black body, no head. Excellent aroma, vanilla, peat, wood. Very silky mouthfeel. Bitter aftertaste. Nicely balanced. Countbeer (6599) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - APR 9, 2012
Brown pour, black beer, no head, just some brown bubbles, disappears quick.
Smell is very good: smooth oaky whiskey notes mixed with coffee, peat, hint of liquorice, dark candy sweets, light hint of tar and the slightest hint of something vanilla. Good balanced smell with lot of dark stuff, though not smoked or heavily roasted.
Taste liquorice, coffee, roasted/burned oak, bitter, liquorice wood, espresso, creamy buttery mocha flavours.
Aftertaste of roasted grains, espresso, bitter, liquorice drenched herbs.
Low to no carbo, soft mouthfeel, full body and light oily texture.
Good beer, better than the winter Jack Daniels edition.

The whiskey flavor builds throughout the taste. Coffee and whiskey characterize the aroma. Sweetness of chocolate cake at the end. Tried with Dave at the brewery in April, 2012. daknole (11402) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - JUL 14, 2012
Black pour, dark brown head. Aroma is loaded with epresso, chocolate, peat, burned sugar. Flavor has some nice peat integrated with chocolate, coffee, dark toasted bread. Nice stuff! MrHangover (4693) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - OCT 14, 2012

Bottle at tuulensuu, Tampere. Black color, small brown. Aroma is full roasty body, casks, licorice, coffee. Full body, roasty, coffee, whiskey cask, hoppu end. sjogro (4748) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - OCT 18, 2017
Bottle shared at/from Maakun’s. Thanks! Black with thin tan head. Oldest Emelisse I ever had, from 2012. Sweet deep roasted chocolate malts, syruppy sweetness, nuttiness, earthy and fatty roasted coffee bean notes, deep dried dark fruits, dates, blackberries, prunes, whisky and oak. Moderate sweet and smooth deep bitter. Full body, nearing that velvet soft feel, soft carbonation, powdery dryness in the texture. Damn, what a pleasure to taste then good ol’ times of Emelisse White Label series at their peak.
