Bottle. Aroma of salt, bog, smoke and seaweed. Taste is salty, with some licorice, wood, vanilla, tar and lots of smoke.Truly a hardcore beer. To be shared by many. pentaz (1264) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - FEB 24, 2013
Bottle. Pours black with a partly lasting and medium lacing small creamy tan head. Aroma is roasted malts, brown sugar, licorice, peat, whisky, vanilla, dark fudge, herbs, butter, soy, booze and oak. Taste is heavy sweet, heavy bitter, a little salty. Body is full, texture is thick/creamy, carbonation is soft. Finishes sweet and with much heat and gets astringent in the far finish. Quite pleasant this one. I’ll have to look for the other B.A. versions. SimplySike (1524) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - FEB 26, 2013

Surprisingly easy to drink for a white label, it’s not as thick. Notes of whiskey and chocolate. Decent irs.

The smoothest of the bunch, the imperial stout is not overwhelmed by the cask. Smoky, but in a more discreet way. GothGargoyle (2588) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 7, 2012
Deep black with no head. Aroma is licorice, oak, whiskey. Full bodied, slightly slick on the palate, no noticeable carbonation, slightly boozy finish. Taste is whiskey, licorice, chocolate, dates. Nice but a little boozy, should improve with age.

330 ml bottle @ Gastropub Tuulensuu, Tampere. BBE 06/2015.TrefwoordPunk (1302) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - JUL 20, 2012
Pours a dark brown, almost black colour with a small foamy head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, salty licorice and cream. Flavour of roasted malts, strong salty licorice, caramel, wood and minerals. Full bodied, thick mouthfeel and a long, dry, salty, roasty finish. Not much flavours from the barrel. Strong saltiness is still present as on the original Emelisse IRS.
Bottle 33 cl. Pours black without a head and with an aroma of sweet and roasted malts, chocolate and ripe cherries. The taste is full-bodied and dominated by roasted malts with hints of whiskey, espresso, toffee, overripe fruits and ice-cream. Very nice!
