Bottle. Thanks Caesar, Skortila and Mark. Pours opaque black with a small, creamy, beige head. Aroma has peat, vinious, oak, vanilla, dark chocolate. Low carbonation, fine dry and creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has fine balanced peat, chocolate, light roasted, vinious and warming. Quite bitter finish with added alcohol.

Benzai (16528) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - JAN 14, 2013
Bottle @ home. Unexpected find hidden in the basement. Thought it was the regular peated one. Opaque pitch black color, full sized thick dark beige to light brown head that lasts for quite a while and leaves fair lacing. Aroma has malts, dark malts, roasted malts, coffee, peat and wood. Taste roasted malts, dark malts, lightly chocolate, chocolate-bitter, wood, lightly peat, maybe a hint of vanilla and slightly alcohol. Medium to full body, alcohol pretty well hidden, medium carbonation. Very nice!

Benjii (3049) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 7, 2012
On keg at Gas Lamp. Pours a black colour with a decent light tan head. Aroma of Jack Daniels bourbon, oak, chocolate and caramel. Similar flavours with moderate carbonation and a silky mouth-feel. Alcohol is well balanced. A beautiful warming Jack Daniels finish again.

Bov (13221) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - AUG 27, 2012
from Erzbierschof - very dark brown, almost black beer with a poor head retention; peated whisky-like aroma with notes of caramel and cherry; quite thick and full-bodied; some sweetness below soon overwhelmed by a solid and long lasting bitterness; long lasting whisky-like smokey notes; caramel, earth and licorice in the finish - splendid !

4.2
Idiosynkrasie (7843) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - AUG 9, 2012
330ml bottle. Pitch black with very small, creamy, lacing, reawakening, beige head. Intense, heavy, complex, dark malty aroma with oak, leather and peat notes, a vanilla touch, Whiskey in general, minimal hints of liquorice and balsamico. Taste has intense, dry notes of leather, peat and sweat, is dark malty, minimally roasty, minimally biting and has a deeply warming alcoholic touch in the finish. A perfect example of a BA beer - the BA flavours are complement in a strict sense, they are neither overdone nor even do they predominate the beer completely as so often in other cases.

3.9
sebletitje (10284) - Enghien, BELGIUM - JUL 23, 2012
33cl bottle from Emelisse biershop, BB 09/2013.
