Bottle @ ACBF 2012: black with a small tanned head, smell is chocolate, mocha, sweet with a touch of malt, taste is sweet, chocolate, mocha, cocoa, milk chocolate, blew & black berries, chocolate milk, coffee, slight roast & bitter in finish, creamy, sweetish, sweet malty & fruity but I appear to be the only one here who didn’t pick out the sorachi ace, at least not the sweet blue cheese I was expecting, maybe subtly, still excellent Cunningham (8176) - Halden, NORWAY - APR 2, 2015
Just really black. Lovely begie head that leaves a fine lacing down the glass. Coffee, mild roasted and chocolate in the aroma. Full body. Unbelivable lovely balance between sweetness and bitterness. Soft carbonation and a creamy/oily texture. Coffee, chocolate, herbal, citric and mild roasted flavor. Dangerously well masked alcohol. What a cracy brew. Hard to describe. So complex, tasty, fresh, heavy and yet easy drinkable. Glad I did not taste just 2cl at a beer festival. Pure pleasure!mR_fr0g (12917) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - OCT 8, 2012

Imperial Stout #200
pitch black with a thick head. Good lacing. Nutty, roasty aroma. Great sorachi ace flavour that melds well with the huge malty blackbone. Great. subcombicio (166) - Marghera, ITALY - APR 1, 2013
Bottled, almost a year old. Dark color, short brown head. Aroma is of a good RIS: chocolat, roasted malts, molasses. The sorachi ace brings some minty freshness to it, actually a wonderful combination. Balancing is very delicate here I guess, so might be at the perfect age at the moment. Did I see they tried a coconut version of this one as well? I can imagine the mix, as the hops give it a coconutty feel as well. In taste there’s a wonderful mix of sweet biscuity malt and robust chocolat, with a velvet blanket of mint on top. Stunningly good. Just the right amount of sweetness for me. I remember I tried this beer fresher as well and then the minty notes of the sorachi ace were a bit too present in the aroma and bitterness. But with a small year of developing, it’s absolutely amazing.

Aftertaste: bit sweet, bitter hops, bit sourish, alcohol, mocha, dark chocolate, dry, grassy, some caramel, liquorish, very hoppy ending.
Bottle 330 ml at home, into a snifter. ABV 11%
Almost totally black in colour, with a tall and thick, creamy head, brown in colour, with excellent retention, leaving thin rings of lacing around the glass.
Aroma of black olive, chocolate, light alcohol. The variety of aromas widens as it warms up. Some vanilla too, coffee, but also hops present with citrus notes.
Taste of vanilla, alcohol, roasted malts, coffee on the finish. It has the kind of bitterness originating from hops but also (less) coffee bitterness, with long duration on the aftertaste. Very good!
Very thick and full on the body, with good carbonation.Sticky on the palate.
Great IRS, looking forward to try the rest of the White Labels I have. RW80 (2637) - Hoogeveen, NETHERLANDS - JAN 31, 2015

Il faut aimer les bières très épaisses, Elle est très difficile à définir tellement c’est complexe. Encore une excellente bière de chez Emelisse
