Amsterdam. Bottle in my hotel room. Opaque black -brown beer with a decent tan head. Palate is light and airy. Minerally carbonation. Rich dark malt with good rich dark chocolate. Powerful bourbon and bourbon spice. Somewhat tempered by vanilla oak. Finishes soft and rich. Pretty much spot on! Just needs a little time to take the edge off!

Bottle shared in Richmond - many thanks to Daniel. Pours deep black-brown with a minimalist tan head. The nose has some torched wood, alcohol, dry cocoa, peat, smoke. Medium sweet flavor with rich chocolate, scorched earth, baking cocoa, more peat, some woody dryness, raisins. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with further dry cocoa, a bit of smoke, burnt caramel, earthy bitterness, brownies. Great stuff overall. Good sturdy barrel character coming through.
