Rated on 12-02-2016. (Bottle) This beers appearance is a very small tan head that mostly diminished, hazy reddish brown body, lively carbonation, and a fair amount of lacing. The aroma is yeast, hint of hops, fruity, sugary, sweet, spicy, caramel, and heavy malt. The flavor presents yeast, fruity, hint of hops, sweet, spicy, and caramel malt. The mouthfeel is lively carbonation and this beer is medium-full bodied. A quaffable beer, but overall it is just so-so which is disappointing for me since this is one of my favorite beer styles. The taste just did not live up to my expectations for this beer style.

33 cl. bottle bb 09/2013. Pours mostly clear, deep copper with a thin film of foam. Aroma of toffee, dried dark fruit and a hint of red wine. Flavor is strawberry hard candy and brown sugar. Finish of dried fig and wooden hops provides some drying. Medium bodied with low carbonation and a decent balance.

Hazy brown, beige froth. Aroma has dried fruit, brown sugar and caramel. Sweet flavour, caramel, brown sugar, ripe fruit and alcohol. Finishes with hoppy bitterness and a little alc warmth. Gets more and more alcoholic actually and seems somewhat unrefined.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a head of frothy medium sized white colored bubbles that were fully diminished and left behind a no visible carbonation semi-opaque brown colored body and a poor lacing. The weak aroma was malty. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish with a lingering spicy aftertaste. The ok flavor contained notes of semi-sweet mild spice and brown malt. An OK brew just nothing special.

Deep purple hue, low head. Aroma spicy - lots of cedar wood and cloves. Taste licorice, heavy herbal notes. Juniper berries and pine needles. Toffee finish, bit dry. Original and warming.

Wygląd: barwa miedzian, wyraźnie zamglona, do zmętnionej z pływającymi drobinkami. Piana w kolorze ecru, drobno pęcherzykowa, umiarkowanej wielkości i niezbyt trwała, ograniczająca się do niewielkiej obwdki wokł ścianek.

Smak: kwaskowo- alkoholowa (bardzo ostra) podstawa z akcentami rodzynek, wiśni, śliwek suszonych, karmelu, nieco czekolady, chleba melano. Całość jednak nieprzyjemna. Goryczka umiarkowana, niezbyt wyczuwalna. Krągła pełnia, niskie wysycenie i kwaskowo- alkoholowy (momentami palący przełyk) finisz. Bardzo słabe wykonanie. Za duży alkohol i kwaskowość. Z trudem piłem.

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2015 At Spuyt in Amsterdam but I forgot to take notes so will have to re-rate later. From what I remember, this was a deep brownish bronze beer with medium sized, pale greyish beige head and sweet, malty aroma and taste of caramel, toffee, pear, dates, raisins and some banana; somewhat thin and even lightly metallic body for the style, finishing sweet with warming alcohol, spicy notes and light herbal hop bitterness. More than decent, but coming from Emelisse, I guess I expected a bit more still.
